SH905i Volume Discovered!

SH905i's audio playback is immensely disappointing!
Here are my discoveries while transferring audio via USB.

The USB enable you to use DOLBY which if you use a card reader you would not be able to use DOLBY. BUT WAIT, don't worry... because HONESTLY, YOU WON'T HEAR A DIFFERENCE AT ALL if or if not DOLBY is enabled!

I've owned two 903SH (903Sh Jap fw and Sx833 Hk fw) and a black 904SH.

--------------------------------------------------------
Here is a scale I have made as accurately as I can could.

0 - Old Nokias (ie. Nokia 3310)
1
1.5 - SH905i falls here! Very low volume (even at max volume) and very low quality even with DOLBY enabled.
2
2.5 - Moto Razrs fall in this category in terms of volume but quality sets them back at 1.2
3
4
5 - 903SH (Both of my guys fall here)
6
7
7.5 - 904SH (Mines a vodafone batch which some ppl claim that Voda is louder than SB)
8
9
10 - None that I know of. Could be a SE since they do specialize in Walkman phone - but I can't find a SE that would rank @ 10.
-----------------------------------------------------

I can barely hear my SH905i while playing a video or music in a room with 10 people talking.

I am beginning to believe that I have a defective SH905i in my hands. This phone was bought from lol.dqn on ebay. I think I may have to return it soon for a exchange. This phones volume and quality is just very inappropriate for such a high-end phone!
I don't believe that there is even "Stereo" in this phone. It's all in mono even when I have Stereo enabled. The mono is beginning to literally hurt my ears.

If you have a SH905i, please post your results on audio volume play back and quality.

Please also rank your volume and quality based on my scale of your SH905i and any other Keitai you have.

------updated------

The following info is based on my 904SH:
I put a song into the SH905i and then I also placed the same identical song in the 904SH.
I played them both so that they are on point with each other on every beat and word.
To demonstrate to you my volume on the SH905i, I had to push the volume on the 904SH down 6 pink bars to make both the Sh905i and the 904SH equal in volume.
Note that this is when the SH905i is at its max volume already.
Add to that, there are no stereo (I have it enabled but it sounds alot like mono to me) on the SH905i that I have - which hurts ears.

------updated again------

No, I am seriously not being harsh on my SH905i in any way!
First of all, I am not stupid and I know how to compare a phone's volume and quality based on models like 903SH and 904SH and old razrs.
I am, by no means, judging this phone badly because I expect tremendous quality and volume like the 904SH.

I would seriously send this phone out to someone who has a SH905i too so they can compare the two. I do not hesitate. But I don't know how to stress this issue as much as I have.

Please post your results.

This is in terms of my scale, and for reference, I'll include some phones I tested with:
If you need a 10 or something close to 10, I would vote for N95. Then my SX633 would be somewhere around 7-8. That phone is insanely loud for some reason.

My SH905i is louder than any 903SH I've ever owned: one in Euro, one in JP, and one in HK. It isn't louder by a huge margin, probably a 6 if 903SH is 5.

maybe my standards are low..but i find sh905i's sound quality to be ok..the dolby i agree with because i honestly dont hear the difference...

but the loudness is satisfying for me...i think good sound quality phones are Sony Ericssons

sound quality-wise nokia's N series is at the top. but w/e, this isn't the place to argue bout that.
anyhow. i found the SH905i quite quiet also. not a 1.5.. but maybe something like a 4.

wow! are you guys being serious? Do you guys think my Sh905i is a defective set lol.dqn sold me?

Posted by: EpikHigh

maybe they weren't very consistent with making their phones.. aha

my SO905Ics is pretty loud...louder than my 903sh. I`m waiting to see how loud the SO905i is

I don't complain much about the volume as I found it to be offensive if you set the volume at max, i.e. Nokia, super loud ringing tunes on the train is annoying ... just a decent volume and vibration is enough for me.

I always have this thought, super loud volume ringing tone = cheap phone. Crisp and clear with decent ringing tone = high end phone

ha ha..

I just tested the ringtone volume with my friend's JP 903SH, and my previous analysis holds true still.

903SH ~ 5
SH905i ~ 6
