I had went to update my firmware to the newer version and the update software said it had inccurred an error, and if I performed three steps (unplugging cable from PC and phone, and powering phone off) said update would resume.... never happened. Now I'm stuck with this phone that I've had less than 3 weeks that boots to the M splash screen and doesn't go any further. Is my only recourse to take it to a tech?? Or is there something I can do to get a firmware back on it??

Thanks for any help.

Try pressing * and # while powering on the phone to force bootloader USB INIT and connect it to the MSU again and see if it completes the flash.

If you can get it to bootloader mode, but MSU won't complete the flash, you can get RSD Lite and the USC V9m flash file and flash it that way.

When mine bricked, I had to send it back.. which motorola broke my phone. They cracked both the inside and outside screens. Replaced them, doing so scratched it a bit, and the touch buttons on the outside sometimes work.
