I would like to know if someone could tell me which firmware
to use on my Rogers K790a. I was going to use WotanServer.

I'm a little confused on America 1 or 2 or ????
and do I pick the latest R8.... ??

america 2 and you should use the latest firmware. Customize packs are for languages only but i noticed on the K790a the cutom packs change the bands also so stick with America 2

For this type of phone which is the one that I have I have tried RJC001 which gives you the white screen of death. The firmware works again after restoring the GDFS with the original. R8Axxx one doesn't work with this phone, maybe on some models but it didn't with mine. You get "No Network Coverage" on the phone, when switching from 3G/GSM to GSM only phone freezes. You have to pull out battery and restart phone. And plugging in the phone to recharge you will get "Alien Battery" message. This firmware is for the K800 not the 790. The ones that work fully are RKG001 which is Personal branded but only at startup and some wap links. And the generic RJG001 which is fully generic no branding, only SE wap links.

The America part of it is the phone language and layouts. These are menu settings and language types for the phone you can choose in the CDA part to have either like in my case cf (Canadian French), en (English) or you can choose portugese and spanish and what ever other language pack that is available.
