Hey all,
Having an issue with a brand-new S1 that is driving me nuts. I want to assign custom "home screen" softkeys to the main left and right softkeys (not the D-pad softkeys with the menu button in the middle). By default, left is 10-4 and right is Web. I'd like to change the right softkey to jump to my contacts since I don't subscribe to mobile web (no need).

Anyone have any ideas? Is this an impossible feature on this phone, because I can't figure it out at all. Looks like a neat, simple little phone for basic calls and 10-4 (push-to-talk) service though.

Simple

1) Press the clear center key which will bring up the menu
2) Settings (should be option 8)
3) Others (should be option 0)
4) Scroll to Navigation keys

That should it.

I have had mine 2 days, it is going back to the store in a minute. Great idea, terrible execution and this sucker is SLOW. Never been able to complete a text before it had the first word on screen.

I guess your firmware is slightly different because my nav keys don't include options to change the left and right softkeys, just the D-pad style buttons around the center key. Thanks for the response though.

Agree that it's slow as hell, but not a bad little phone overall, I like having a slim 10-4 phone.
