Are there rating or clear winners in the competition regarding the best in call quality for both caller and receiver?

motorola tend to be the best in that department, followed by nokia. samsung are not as good, and SE even less

I consider Moto and Nokia about the same (on top no less though) although the newer Moto's with CrystalTalk are really sounding good. The mic sensitivity is not as good as most Nokia's I have owned, though.

I'll have to look into CrystalTalk.

I know quality is affected by signal and other factors but is one of those factors the network 'type' I am on? ATT on Kauai is not a popular market so we have older tech. The sales people tell us that 3g is coming but I wonder when and if ever. We are only 70,000 people here. Anyone know if 3g improves call quality?

I can not seem to justify the n95-4. I absolutely loved the Nokia 6230 but the OS was behind the times. I am on WM5 (8125, Wizard) and find that texting with a keyboard is nice but good, solid, dependable, clear phone calling is more of what I am after now.

For something you use constantly it seems like 500 should be next to nothing. There are no cheap ways to get the N95-4 for ATT use, is there?

yes there are some import shops in NYC and LA (major cities) that will give you an n95 for close to free if you sign up for new service. same deal as if you were getting discount from the carrier and signing 2 year contract. sorry i dont have exact details. if you take care of the phone, you get most of your money back when you sell it once you're done with it.

I think only the Moto V8/9 and some of their BT headsets have CrystalTalk.
