OK I am about to blow my top with Motorola. 1st V3xx while in conversation hear a beep tone, than call is dropped screen goes blank white and unit is locked solid until battery is pulled and reinserted. 2nd one DOA from warranty, 3rd one worse than first. Than AT&T warranty says yeah these are trouble so send me a V9 (or whatever the latest greatest is called). This gets so hot about burns your hand and locks up same way. They send me another. AHHHH finally something works at least until Wednesday when the great hope phone did the same thing!!!
This happens whether using bt headset or not btw. My friend at work has same phone and no trouble. What the h%ll is wrong with Motorola?!
I actually "like" this phone but I hate this locking up crap and I am tired of switching phones.

It took 5 V3xx phones delivered to my house to get one that worked, the fifth is working solidly. The first 3 were grey Cingular versions, the fourth was a platinum AT&T version - the last one is a platinum AT&T version, which has worked flawlessly for about 8 months. Two of the four returned phones even shocked my ear during calls! Sad that you're going through this, I tried to get a different device after the third one, but CS kept sending me V3xx phones. My mom's using the last one, and it's working great for her. I hope you get hooked up with one that works - soon!

After three exchanges of the same make/model they MUST offer you a different model (in most cases an upgrade. It's called the lemon law. One question though, are you having a 4 hour conversation that the phone starts to overheat and burn you? As an agent I've handled hundreds of customers and probably thousands of handsets and never heard of a problem lke yours... weird.

My original cingy v3xx that was almost a year old just died recently. I got a new ATT branded v3xx and it has been solid as i have fully tested it, even in a 3G area. I noticed these phones get pretty hot during heavy 3G use, are you all in 3G areas?
I'm afraid this v3xx won't last either for whatever reason. For some reason I had always been worried about my original one too, makes me sad, I guess my original warranty is about to expire, i really think the v3xx rocks, but man, give me confidence in reliability plz Moto!
EDIT: back when i was in Toledo, my original v3xx froze up a few times on 3G...this was like last summer though.

NOt having 4 hour conversations. This occurs (when it does) at times almost immediately. In the case with this last time it did not get hot. I hear a long beeeep and than dead. As for lemon law thing yes they did offer the different model that's why I got the V9 but like I said the first one got so hot and buzzed loudly. This one I thought/hoped was solid but now it did it on Wednesday and they (AT&T) tell me my warranty expires soon as it's only one year from the original purchase. I have called Motorola directly. They KNOW about this btw. I asked them to send me a new phone. They reiterated either I can send them my phone for repair or reky on AT&T to continue to send me refurbs from them.

interesting.....as I own two v3xx's as my back ups (one grey att and one gold att) both are rock solid. No problems.....sounds like you're just getting a bad run and bad luck. Don't lose out hope.
