Nokia 8290 and 8890 uses the same type of battery which is BLB-2
Nokia 8290 & 8890 battery on 8260: Will fit, but you will have a hard time removing it, because it thinner than 8260 battery.
Nokia 8260 battery on 8290 & 8890: Will fit, but you will have a hard time closing the battery cover, because it thicker than 8290 battery.

it's because the 8260 actually uses a BLB-3 li-ion battery. which is rated at 920mAh as opposed to 750 mAh of the BLB-2 so using the 8260 battery will be better wouldn't it?
