to turn the volume of the RING down on the " fly "

how ? .. is it as simple as just clicking the volume botton down .. when i do that it just says EAR PIECE volume . same as RING ?

basically in english

lets say NORMAL PROFILE RING is usually 4 ...

and i am eating but i dont want to have it on SILENT .. but i want it on 1 volume

rather than having to go through all the clicks and going into PROFILE and EDITING and ect

can i just click the toggle switchs on the side

From the Samsung SGH-A707 manual:

6. Volume key: Allows you to adjust the ringer volume in standby mode or
adjust the voice volume during a call. The volume key can also be used to
scroll up or down to navigate through the different menu options. To mute
the ringer during an incoming call, press the volume key up or down.
When the phone is closed, press and hold these keys to toggle the display
on or off. This key is also used when the Music Player is active.

If you are playing music and the backlight goes out, you will need to press and hold this key to gain access to the music player keys when the flip is closed. If the backlight is out, the keys themselves will not wake up the phone or control the music player.

This message should have been under Regular Phones since the SYNC is not a PDA/Smartphone. Questions about the Blackjacks should go here.

Yes, just click the side volume button down until it's on the one you want.

By the way, most Samsungs work the same in most of it's options/functions even if it was a Blackjack.

well actually that cant be right . because when i CLICK on the side toggle bottons.. it only effects the " ear piece " volume NOT the RING TONE volume

According to the manual, what is happening with you is the way the Blackjack 2 works:

2. Volume keys: Adjusts the earpiece volume or to adjust the ringer volume
in profile mode or adjust the voice volume during a call. To mute the ringer
during an incoming call, press the volume key up or down. To reject an
incoming call, press the Ignore soft key or press and hold the up or down
volume key. This will send the call to your voicemail.

The Blackjack 1 works that way also. I have not checked any other Windows Mobile-base phones to see if it is systemic.

well i have tried every " profile " and mode and the only thing the toggle botton does that i can get is to adjust the EAR PIECE VOLUME

i just read the FQ question on the SAMSUNG web site .. there is no way to adjust ring volume " on the fly " the only way is to have different profiles ..

very stupid
