Share Connection from Computer to BlackJack II

I know you can share a 3G connection from your phone to a computer, but I was wondering if it was possible to share my computer's connection to my phone?

I actually have the same question, I don't have data plan but I'd like to be able to download updates to some programs every once a while. If a BT PAN could be established between the computer and the phone, is it possible for the phone to share the computer's Internet connection?
Really wish there are people familiar with this.

As long as you have ActiveSync connection, your phone automatically gets internet connection from your PC.

Is there an Active Sync setting to enable this? I've tried accessing the 'net while Synced and IE/Opera won't connect.

There is no setting. It's on all the time. However, on your desktop ActiveSync connection settings, make sure the connection is configured to 'The Internet', instead of the default 'Automatic' (or 'Work') which doesn't work most of the time.

So BT class 1 has a range of ~100m, I know most BT dongles are class 2, but if we can manage to get a class 1 transceiver then it's almost like a mini-Wifi, right? I know BT2.0's 3MB/s speed is slow compare to Wifi but since I don't have data plan that's better than nothing. My computer sits in the middle of the home and I can get BT signal in the living room and the bedrooms.

You're correct. However, your phone does not have class 1 transiver either. So, you're probably limited to 30 feet regardless what your dongle can do.

BTW, you need to establish BT activeSync, not BT PAN, which is a little bit more complicated to setup than BT PAN.

Yeah, I thought about that too, the phone is the bottleneck. This is what got me excited at first http://www.meritline.com/bluetooth-...er-class-1.html

I have Vista so I have to figure out how to do it in Mobile Device Center.

Vista is much easier to setup BT activesync (WMDC) than XP. No worries there. Just make sure you have latest version of WMDC installed.
