No more free DUN or WAP at 1x on VZW

After attempting to connect today to "free" DUN and WAP via my seem edited RZR, I was given a message that I needed to subscribe to an unlimited data package at roughly $50.00 per month. It looks like the good old days are gone 
. If anyone knows a way around this terrible news, please advise. I am going through internet withdrawl now!
