so far i have the same problem... i cant install any games/apps via the internet. i CAN install using cricket games/apps but im sick of paying 5 bucks for crappy games. anyone know how to install games/apps using the mobile web?

yeah its like a bunch of BS.
it has java support and mp3 support but we cant download ANYTHING from the internet. im so tempted to either:
A)break this phonein half because of its lack of features for the $200 price tag.
or
B)buy a data cable and hack the damn thing myself

I really need to find the MSL code. But that WILL be different for everyone!!! The MSl is a combination of a "Master Code" and the ESN (Electronic Serial Number). Once this is discovered i will be able to mess around with ALL the 3G Programming Features and Vocoder.
Looks pretty promising from here but i just got my data cables for my phone and the phone tools. but im probably gonna make my own software to edit such things as the carrier display, menu, features, codes, etc.
All my fellow lingo users should be happy.
oh and to "Totalysexyguy" i have a way to download online games/apps/ringtones and so on BUT i need to figure out the damn MSL code to edit out the "Added Security" thats blocking the phone from trusting 3rd party apps.
In case you didnt know everything from the browser uses a link from crickets browser. In the 3G programming menu i can edit the IP addresses and so on. So once i change the IP address (i will probably make it load Google instead of the regular cricket wap browser) we should (technically speaking) be able to download anything we want because its not loading crickets setting from the WAP site (so its bypassing all its security checks)
UPDATE1:
Well ive had no luck figuring out the codes (MSL and changed security code) for now. BUT i did manage to find a MSL code generator BUT i dont have any idea on how to use it. They are valid Win32 Applications so idk how to run them.

so im all wtf they phone has java support but yet it doesnt support java files?! thats some BS. lets hope i can fix this

Kinda new here but I have the Kyocera wildcard through virgin mobile and every time I try to activate it, it tells me that I need to take it back to Walmart and have it unlocked. I tried that and they cant do- say that VM needs to do it and VM says that WM needs to do it. Can you help?

sorry but i dont know the unlock code.....as a matter of fact idk how to unlock any CDMA phones. only GSM phones.
(i mean sure i know how to reprogram a cell phones NAM but still activation is out of my league lol)

unfortunately no 
i cant do anything until i get the browser code. Then i can try making a new session (as crickets browser doesnt use normal web pages. EX: its "Search" browser "disguised" as google search URL is "search.wap.mycricket.com" not www.google.com.)
i believe that this is blocking stuff (such as java apps and games) from being downloaded because its all through cricket's filter and by removing the filter (creating a new session independent fom crickets normal wap searching) i should be able of to downloading anything.
This is just a guess but a very logical one at that.
I, unfortunately, wont have this phone much longer because im canceling the phone some time this week (probably friday) so if i do, i will stop the project here.
I will post, my final thoughts, provide help for anyone willing to try this, and try helping.

Hmm, im by no means an expert, but my phone seems to navigate just fine to any website address I.E. www.google.com / hotmail.com / howardforums.com ect ect...

yes it can navigate to them but it still loads the cricket wap site in the beginning of the web session so possible, the code in the wap site is remaining on the phone until the session ends.
As i said, its just a theory and it seems pretty logical.
the only real doubts i have about it is that why would cricket add something like this on a phone?
which has a simple answer. Money. They want us to pay for games, apps, ringtones, etc.

for now, i cant find anything. Cricket wont supply codes, and figuring out a 6 digit code with 10 possibilities each number (0-9) is something i WILL NOT be doing because i dont have nearly the amount of free time that would require

hey!!! for that wildcard user... at the idle screen, type one 6 times... then when it asks for a surcurity code, type VIRGIN. it should aks you if you wanna rewset your code... hit yes. nothing will be erased. LOL... i do it all the time.

I have the MSL code from Cricket Mine is 099472 but there is only wap changes in the ##web like the wap address and port no security features avail to change. any new info would be greatly appreciated. BTW im trying to put java apps on my phone and still no luck.

EVERY MSL code is different. So if i cant make progress (for lack of IMPORTANT information) i cant guide you any further in the project.

Just call cricket during the day and ask them for a master subsidy LOCK code i told them i needed it to reprogram my phone with the settings i needed to access stuff at work. NOTE ASK THEM FOR A ( MASTER SUBSIDY LOCK CODE)!! NOT MSL...

Tried changing wap to google.com yesterday and nothing... I did manage to get qpst working with it though i had to buy a 25 dollar bluetooth dongle from wal-mart but now i can get my pics and stuff off my phone transfer ringtones. Still checking the .bqr file format for the K pic on the outside lcd when it is open. But this is just a update...

ive manage to download a full mp3 using the ringtone upload method. thats about it.
it would be nice to experiment with different file types. perhaps making/changing a java proxy or something will allow java apps to run

i already posted the link to upload ringtones. uploading pictures and mp3 are the exact same method.
and no. this phone is just ugh. im thinkin about testpointing it and just bypassing everything and writting out some software to hack it but idk if i have that much free time

so u dont know anyone who can unlock a CDMA phone. I'm with ntelos and I want to by the lingo but its expensive. So I was thinking if I buy the vm wildcard I could just unlock it and activate on ntelos because the use the same network. I really need soneones help with unlocking thus phone when I buy it. It only cost $99 and I would rather do that than pay $240 for the exact phone. U will have to excuse any typos because i'm using my iPod tilouch and the letters are very close to each other

well the lingo is only $140 not $240. but i own an iphone and i know what you mean about letters being close together and it sucks sometimes.
i know people who can unlock CDMA phones. but none of them are interested in cricket. Mainly just Verizon because they have good phones.
EDIT:
i can learn how to unlock them in about 5 minutes (only saying that because it took me all of 5 minutes to learn how and to accomplish unlocking a GSM phone) so CDMA shouldnt be harder lol

Sorry ive been working alot lately and havent had much time to post but i did find that changing key info using qpst does allow free app downloading bypassing the flex bucket crap cricket has but i tried it again today and it seems it may be a fluke. well im out for now u guys and by the way the lingo has a bqr file im trying to edit without using a hex editor. this is the file for the oustide display pic when the phone is open. btw hackor im blowin it down riiiiight now so it may be a min for a post from me.

and yes i have also tried experimenting with qpst. nothing seems to work on this phone. im probably gonna give it away to a family member (probably my cousin)
and in return.....hmmm get the htc diamond....or another iphone. im not exactly sure. but its a definate good bye from cricket to me.
i will get another iphone if at&t does that $250 iphone (but you have to sign a contract at the store) by july 9th and if they done, i will just wait and get the diamond

so I have been looking on craigslist for a lingo phone and some girl had two. But she wouldn't hold one for me. I guess I am forced to pay 240 for a brand new phone. Or my fiancé' is going to get a stolen one from a guy at the mall. I'm just wondering if I go to have the damn thing activated they take it from me because of that. Any input is welcome

well either me or you should be able to get it unbranded from cricket so it can work on ntelos. as a matter of fact, im not even sure if thats needed because they both are CDMA and they both sell the phone. So ntelos should be able to flash the phone when you activate it again.
and ok $125 sounds good.
i can send out the phone, provide a tracking number and so on. If you want pics of it (so you can see its condition for yourself) i can also do that. and yeah all you do is mail me the money.
