Got 3G today in Jacksonville, NC!!!

I was taking my daughter to school this morning and I look at my Blackjack and had to do a double take. Yesterday it was Edge but today it is 3G!!!

Sad thing is that it is only active more or less within the city limits. I live 8 miles away from the city center. At my house I still have edge but I get in my car and travel two miles toward the city and it switches to 3G. I have four bars at my house and there is a tower less than half a mile away from my house. Maybe one day they will get that one to be 3G.

I don't see it in northern Michigan yet, so not ALL the podunk places are getting it.
I'd like to have it for this summer when I'm in Canada, roaming off of AT&T/Dobson from Drummond Island

Fayetteville, NC got 3G today as well.

Of course, for me, when I'm at home, I'm still out of the loop. I live 1 mile outside the 3G circle of Charlotte...

Well, not so podunk. I think they are after the military.
The USMC Camp Lejeune located here. This area is exploding in growth. We are like in our own bubble with lots of jobs and housing. No housing slump or economic slowdowns here. They are not just building houses, they are building them by the subdivision and the houses are sold before they are even up! They consolidated some military bases and they are sending the people here with their families. Just about any retail store that you can come up have decided to build one of their stores here. I am not in the military but don't want to move as everything I need is here. Where else can you see one this fly over your house a few times a week.
