Text messages unable to vibrate more than once, unless a reminder comes up minutes later. These are all I found, please let me know if they aren't bugs and I just don't know a setting. So what I was thinking is, reactivate your old phone. Reset your Env2 to back factory then try BitPim again. If BitPim works or not, reactivate your Env2 again. So this brings up the question, are you allow to reactivate any of your old phones anytime you please? What do you guys think? Will try when I get home from work. |

Yes, there are a few quirks but most phones have quirks. People love to complain about the littliest of things but I would say 95% of people are satisfied and love this phone and we only see the 5% that like to complain. Buy the phone and you will love it. |

And you can switch your phones around all day long - that's a free service offered by Verizon. It is free from verizonwireless.com, that is. EDIT: we need an insider to leak us the 9100 dll - then we can at least use LG Download to put the phone in NV Edit mode. Then BitPim (or QPST) will work. |

Upgrades will be available in a couple weeks and as Rose said, its fairly easy to do it... just make sure your in a good reception area... great phone otherwise..... buy it |

I got both phones at the same store so I am guessing maybe they got a bad batch. No one on this board has experienced this problem so I am thinking it is just a bad batch of phones. I simply rename the mp3 that I want to use (example name.mp3) to ringtonesname.mp3 and then use the V Cast Music Manager to load the file to the phones internal memory. If you have a micro SD car make sure you remove it before syncing the phone with the V Cast Music Manager or else the file will be loaded on the card and not the internal memory of the phone. The file must be in the phones internal memory to show up as a ringtone. After loading the file to your phones internal memory the file should appear as a ring tone. The only problem with this method is that once you power your phone off, the file will disappear from the rintones list when you power it back on. However, if you have the file set as a ring tone, or message tone, or ring tone for a specific contact it will still play even though the file can't be seen on your ringtones list. If you want to be able to select the file from your ring tone menu once it has disappeared just repeat the steps over again and poof there it is again. I believe this will overwrite the original file you placed on the phone. Hopefully this is helpful until there is a bitpim fix or we can get our hands on the vx9100.dll :-) |

Isn't using myxertones.com or something just much, much, much easier? I understand if it spammed your phone with advertising texts or something, but it's VERY quick to sign up for, and gets a file, with a name of your choosing (albeit "-" isn't an option you can enter, but sometimes existing ones will make it through). I suppose you can only do like 10 or so a day 100% for free, but it still seems vastly superior. Don't get me wrong, I would much rather not have to deal with a 3rd party site, and just do it myself, but for the time being it's fine, and I assure you it's not the ringtones I'm most worried about with bitpim...it's the vast array of other things I'll be able to tweak. Regardless, that's a very interesting solution, and more than anything I'm wondering if that can be used in any other way..... |

I should also add that the "ringtones" part of the file name becomes invisible when the file is in your ring tone menu with the method i previously mentioned. |

This morning it seemed to happen when I took the phone off the charger...and my thumb pressed the volume rocker. If I remember correctly, the outside display showed the New Contact screen. ...im using myxer.com..( and wavepad to edit my ringers).but its just not the same...the quality is not as good as if going through bitpim.(wallpapers too!) Oh well...im sure real soon someone will figure something out...but besides that the phone is great i even found a really nice leather case (W/ magnetic flip) that covers the entire phone (at wal-mart of all places) for $13.00. its obviously rectangular (black) big magnetic flap that is the same size as the width of the case itself...and has the name BYTECH on it...and the BEST thing is that it is a PERFECT FIT .check it out . if anyone has any new info on bitpim working with the env2 9100 please post asap!!!1 thanks

This "dials a number" business is just due to user carelessness and has been way overblown. Just be sure that you wait seven seconds before allowing a keyboard press before putting the enV² in a pocket or case. If you are that impatient, you don't even have to wait the seven seconds. Just press the Zero (0) key for a second or two to engage the Keyguard feature. |

Why should I be "Forced" to put it in my holster just to compensate for a poorly designed key lock. I have disabled speed dial (why should I have to?). Yesterday, my phone called 3 people by accident. One of them was embarrassing because it woke somebody up at 7am on the West Coast. Later my brother said he got a blank voicemail from me (this was actually my phone calling him from my pocket. Maybe my pants are too tight, maybe my thighs are too big, I dont know, but I can tell you this, my Motorola E815 never, ever came off of keyguard (menu *) without me intentionally doing it. Yes there is a chance a firmware upgrade may alter the unlock sequence but I really dont want to gamble on that as I am still within my 30 days. 2. Issue 2. Reception. I live in a fringe area, that I know. My E815 was not 100% free of breaking up but it was acceptable. With the Env2, I literally have to be careful walking waround my house because it would break up so badly. One person said he couldnt hear a word I said. I use my E815 ALL the time at home but am never told I cannot be heard. 3. Voice clarity. Since I got this phone, even when I am in strong signal areas I find people are frequently asking me to repeat myself. With some people I also find that I have to really focus hard to understand them. It's not the volume level, but some voices sound a little on the "Synthesized" side and I too have to ask for a repeat. 4. Lastly, while this isnt the deal breaker I might as well mention that the entry mode bug is just sort of the icing on the cake. I"m referring to the internal screen defaulting to "abc" even though I choose "Abc" Texting was my main motiviation for wanting this phone and it would be nice if it worked properly. Maybe I am spoiled by my Blackberry 8830. who knows. I truly wanted to like this phone. I counted the days to release like most of you. I tried to convince myself the quirks were acceptable. True, nobody has ever invented a quirk free phone and I have had cell phones since they were bigger than a luch box. For me, I will have to squeeze a little more life out of my E815 while I resume the search once again. Feell free to PM me if you want more specifics, thanks. |

This is an issue that should have been contemplated before the phone was released.
Ditto with entry mode. To each his own on reception issues. More and more, it seems as if the env2 is an upgrade in looks, but a downgrade in basic functionality. I question whether I should have to babysit and massage what should have been offered as basic functions. I've been stalking this phone since January, and now I'm starting over on the search. Thanks again. |

1. The unlock sequence is too simple. Does anyone disagree? Could anyone disagree? Other phones I've had with exposed keypads have used a 1-2-3 unlock sequence, which has never given rise to a problem. 2. The simple "Press OK" unlock sequence could be [vastly] improved. The single biggest problem with it right now is, they allow an OK key press to unlock the keypad even while another key is held down. This is why you can unlock the keypad with your flat palm, as bridgesr reported. If they changed this, I think it would fix 90%+ of accidental unlockings. But to take this a step further, they should ignore all key chords. Since chords are not a part of the input scheme, ignore them. As soon as the phone detects more than one key down, ignore all key strokes until all of the keys have been released. A change like this should also help improve unintentional dialing via one-touch speed dial or redial. |
You got it. Wish you were in the room when they thought up the unlock sequence.
The key seems to be this statement from VZW.. "However, you are within your 30-day equipment satisfaction guarantee so I have issued a $30.00 credit to your account for the difference in price."

To validate my believe that they're independant, they had the same SanDisk MicroSD card as the one 2 isles down and they were charging ~$10 more for it because CC had it on sale. Seems to me that if the booth was CC, the sale would apply at the booth as well. Please restore my sanity and tell me I'm not crazy. |

Whatever, it's only a short walk from my apartment. I dealt with another polite Verizon person there who also didn't understand why they couldn't do this all over the phone. It turned out to be a really complicated procedure, with lots of help from the supervisor over the next 15-20 minutes. ("Now I know why they passed the job onto you," I said and she gave me a look as if to say "Yeah, tell me about it!") Then she finally gave me a receipt for a $32 something check that Verizon is supposedly going to mail to me.
