I'm about to upgrade my phone from the crappy Samsung d807 to one of these smartphones... WHICH IS BETTER? I know the blackjack2 can do video and the curve is supposedly better for emails... that aside.. is one more user friendly.. does one get better reception than the other (i have bad dead zones in my new house with my old phone).. thanks for the help and advice in advance!

I had both and I currently have a 8310 Curve. I must say overall the Curve is better and much more stable. I loved 3g for video streaming and such but the Curve does almost everything the BJ2 can do.

The only thing I really miss is having a Genesis emulator!

I have a curve and i have a BJ2

-Blackberry email is better
-Blackberry is more responsive
-Curve has a better keyboard

-BJ2 has a better browser
-BJ2 has a WAY better PIM suite and much better 3rd party options
-BJ2 is much more customizable
-BJ2 has 3G

I can't stand the Curve's PIM suite (absolutely horrendous to the point that I couldn't use it for business and personal items effectively enough), the browser was terribly slow.

Basically a smaller curve with an annoying keyboard.

The love/hate of the keyboard on the Pearl is totally personal. I had a Pearl for almost a year on T-Mobile when it came out. My wife uses it on AT&T now. I really like the keyboard. Given, it takes a week or two to get used to, but once you get used to it you'll love it. The small size of the device easily makes up for the keyboard. While the Curve and BJII are small and thin, they're not as small as the Pearl. I would go play with one in a store and definitely try it out during the money back guarantee period. That way, if you don't like it, you can swap it for another.
