i cant decide on which phone to buy so help me out on which one i should get

Posted by: dimsum05

GET THE -4 BECAUSE IT'S BLACK!!!!!1

Seriously though, what are you gonna be doing with the phone? Are you going to be sideloading a lot? Do you have ATT, T-Mobile (another carrier)...

ANY info is better than "WHICH FON IS BATTER CUZ IFONEZ KILLER!! THANX!"

Deets pleese!

Posted by: J_rahman07

i got tmobile im leaning towards the -4 but is there any difference between the 2 phones??

Posted by: J_rahman07

also where is the best price i can get the -4 from

Posted by: Dr Tran

If you are on T-Mobile, you should be getting the N95-2 or N82.

The N95-4 has up-to-date firmware and has flash support.
The N95-3 has not had a firmware update in months. No flash support.

I think in northwest Houston there are some Asian stores that might sell it with an at&t contract. That could help reduce the cost.

Otherwise, I think Amazon.com, buy.com and Dell small business are the best places online to get the N95-4.

-3 has a hot-swappable memory but smaller screen, while the -4 has a larger screen but static memory (with unbearably slow USB transfer speeds). Both of these phones work with T-Mobile and ATT, but are optimized to use ATT's 3/3.5G high-speed network, so unless you are planning on switching to ATT anytime soon, your really question should be whether you want to get N95-1 or -2. -1 and -3 are identical, except the -1 has a camera lens cover but smaller battery and less RAM (which with newest software I doubt you can tell), as well as the -2 and -4 (same battery, memory, and RAM).

Does the N82 have flash support?

Yes it does.

Sweet, I'm gona get one tomorrow.

Posted by: J_rahman07

on dell small business website it says there selling it for 579 but than how are ppl getting it for like 515 520 before tax and shipping???

Posted by: mobileobsession

It's a tough choice. Although I'd seriously miss the data flexibility of memory card slot of the N95-3, I think the larger screen, with the better screen, firmware and flash support, not to mention the cool all-black finish puts the N95-4 over the top.

I picked up the N82 black, looks good and has the awesome camera

Posted by: DDRMacintosh

I'm confused. Wasn't the N95 8GB the -3? Wasn't the 4 just released?

Posted by: jontymisra

N95-1 Original N95 low ram.
N95-2 = N95 8GB with Euro 3G, more ram.
N95-3 - original N95 design, US 3G, more ram
N95-4 = N95 8GB with US 3G more ram

Cool?

Fixed.

There are upsides and downsides to all of these. It depends on what you want out of the phone.

Here's my take.

N95-1: No NAM 3G - Best Camera
N95-2: No NAM 3G - Biggest Screen with most mature firmware
N95-3: NAM 3G - Expandable Memory Slot
N95-4: NAM 3G - Biggest Screen, Flash support in Firmware.

The n95-4 has a horrible camera. Go look on cnet at the n95-1 and n95-4 review and look at the sample pics and tell me they are the same camera. The n95-4 they had was defective? Yeah, so is just about everyone elses. Look at all the threads and posts saying they think their n95-4 camera is defective. That's because they all are.

The n95-1 or n95-2 are the only n95's you should be looking at. All of nokia's scrap gets piled up and then 6 months later they make a phone for north america with it. That might sound like a joke, but I bet there is some truth to it.

You're gonna quote CNET? Really?

Posted by: J_rahman07

ended up buying the n95-3 i love ittt!!!!

Posted by: samsung.user

I didn't quote anyone let alone cnet. I looked at the pictures they took. Search the s60 forum for n95-4 camera. You will see one guy asking if his camera is blurry, another saying the processing is screwed up, another saying only macro are good, and another saying he went on vacation and all his pics have signs of a defective camera. I stopped there, double checked the pic on display on cnet, yep the camera is crap. No need to quote, common sense and research tells me that.

My camera is fine!

Posted by: RogerPodacter

i was the one who started the "is my n95-4 camera blurry" thread, and once i compared to my n95-3, i realized my -4 camera was completely fine. the pics are the same as all the other n95 variants. no worries. i was just being a little OCD at the time.
