I have OS 4.5.0.18 beta and I just downloaded google maps Verm 2.1.0... My problem is that in my Home Screen menu the icon for google maps is a little grey square which should not be correct, can I change this icon somehow or any how? Any one know the tricks of the trade to change icons on the decktop for installed progs.?? Thanks

Most likely one of the issues of running a beta version. I doubt that you will get much help.

4.5 beta?? how u like it?? i gave up on waiting for an update for that stupid 4.5 but for your question i do know there was a software out there that can do that for you forgot what it was. Ill check tonight and see if i still have the file

running the same OS version (4.5.0.18) on my 8320 for a few weeks now and fortunately not running into any problems, everything is working fine (google maps/icon and any other apps i throw at it, etc.) you might want to try and remove and re-install Google Maps, good luck....of course the occasional memory drain is present but not all that bad for a "Beta"....

not trying to hijack this thred but does anyone have a reliable place to get a beta copy of this as I support this phone at work and want to test what I can before it comes and and i have 200+ people with issues with it???

I wasn't saying that. My Google Maps icon on my officially released OS is just fine is what I'm saying.

I'm using googlemaps 2.0 and v4.5.0.18 and the icon shows up properly.

what the diff between 2.0/2.1?
