I recently purchased a blackberry on ebay.. i have a cellular one sim card in it. any tips on how to get the internet working on it? thanks!

You need a BB data plan for Internet and email. And depending upon the BB, you might need to get it unlocked to work with your carrier.

Check the FAQ at blackberryforums.com. They have a post on buying a used BB on ebay. You can have a lot of problems with it, if you don't know what you are buying.

the phone is for sure unlocked.. thanks for the helpful links. i heard something about you need a cell one code to get the internet, but im not sure

i've been trying different things to get this internet working and its still not.. i have no idea

the phone is an unlocked tmobile blackberry and i have a cell one sim card, so i cant get a data plan, can anyone help?

have you changed the APN settings on it yet ?

if no.. why not ?

see if this helps you any... you CAN use the BB without a BES or BIS plan..

i downloaded opera mini and changed the APN code to what the site you suggested stated "internet.com"
but when i go to start opera mini it says connection not found?

using a BB without a BB dataplan will leave you with a less than satisfying experience. the phones are designed to use a BB dataplan. perhaps the BB is the wrong device for you.

BTW, there are several stickies about this in the RIM forum.

If you can't get a BB data plan then you're stuck. You might have a chance if you get a regular EDGE/GPRS data plan and set the TCP settings but you do need some sort of data plan. You can't browse using voice or SMS...

by internet.com they mean put your companies APN in there...example att's apn are backberry.net isp.cingular ispda.cingular and wap.cngular

I unlocked a BB pearl 8100 which was for at&t and using it for tmobile. What can I use in order to erase everything on the phone and install the Handheld Software & Desktop Manager Software from the tmobile upgrade site? Or what should I do?
