Moto Phone Tools not recognizing L7C?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I have the newest(I think) version of Motorola Phone Tools, 5.0. I installed it, ran it, plugged in my L7C (Slvr) and it says its not recognized. I have also tried the 4.0 and 4.5 versions of the software. Neither worked. Does anyone have any idea why?

Running AMD X2 4400+
Windows XP 64-bit

Thanks guys!

I just had the same issue; used to have MPT 4.5 and it recognized my L7c just fine [although it showed the Service provider as Verizon U.S. while my provider is US Cellular], but everything worked. Then during a live update recently, the system was updated to MPT 5 and it went through the same deal of recognizing the phone and to my surprise, said that I had an unsupported phone. Launching a Live Update indicates that my product is up-to-date.
However, seeing that you haven't received any reply since May 1st, I'm not keeping much hopes that anyone might post an answer to our question. Google, here I come.

Well, at the time I was trying to hack my phone for custom ringtones and stuff.

I found out a nice way to do it.

Download Motorola RSD Lite (I have v3.8)
Download P2K Commander (I have v4.9)
Run RSD Lite and then plug in your phone.
Windows should go through the install new Hardware process. (may take some tinkering)
The L7c should appear on the RSD lite list.
Then run P2K commander, and select the a:/ directory.

From here you can access the folders necessary for pics, ringtones, graphics etc.

Wirelessly posted (palmOne Trëo 650: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320)

My E815 isn't recognized by MPT 5 either. I just reinstalled MPT 4.5.

Hey MOHFpro90,
There's an easier way to access the folders for pics, ringtones, etc. I just went to the Menu => Settings => Connections => USB Settings and changed the Default action from Modem/COM to USB Drive. Then unplug and replug your USB Cable in and it'll recognize it as a Removable Disk. Now you can just use Windows Explorer to drag and drop ringtones, pics, graphics, etc. to the right folders.
