How does having a 3G data connection (i.e. the little 3G over the battery life bars) effect battery life.
If the 3G connection is established but there is no active data transfer
(via internet or email), will the battery like be compromised.
I thought I read that an open 3G connection consumes just a fraction more power, unless you start transferring data via internet or push email, etc..

having a established connection should do nothing to your battery life than normal. Using up data is where there is the big difference.
