To make a long story short to help everyone this worked for me and has worked for me everytime.
few steps
1 Download Bitpim
2 Download Drivers for (http://www.box.net/shared/8i1x5maccg)
3 Using Bitpim (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1327553)
4 Compressing Ringtones (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1363159)
5 Compressing the ringtone saves alot of space to add more ringtones to the phones memory
Follow the instructions carefully and you shouldnt go wrong

I downloaded everything on there, ran it, and nothing. When I plug the phone into the usb port on my computer, the computer doesn't even recognize it as new hardware. All it does is charge the phone. Thanks anyway though.

try goin to settings and pc connections and slect usb modem on the phone
