How do you get hired?

What are you doing to get your jobs selling cell phones? Verizon twice, T-Mobile and ATT gave me interviews and that was it. I have 13 yrs in customer service, 8 in sales and I am not sure what the deal is. I do really well in interviews and am a tech guru. I worked in a electronic store and blew my sales goals out of the water every month. The only down side is i think not knowing spanish really hurts... which i plan to learn over the next year. (live in AZ)

I walk in some of these stores and sometimes can't believe the sales staff is so poorly trained, and then think to my self I can do this.

so what gives?

well considering you dont know spanish in your area i can see that as really hurting you. and although i'm sure many people will deny it, just based on your experience you seem to be in your 40's or close to it...most stores are full of 20 somethings and could be seen as not being a good fit with their current teams.

I am 29, 13 years i included my years bagging groceries and 8 of the 13 were in sales. I think it is the spanish....

ask for feedback.

any gaps in employment or anything that sticks out?

not that i know of, Federal law saw they would have to notify me if it was due to a background check, so i can dispute it if i need to. Guess i will keep trying for a bit longer. Thanks... i will ask for feedback.

Follow up with the manager. Show that you have interest in the company, or the store for that matter. Don't go in there thinking your a big shot... earn it.

You get hired by doing the opposite of what got you fired.
