I preferred the keyboard, but what really swayed me was how much easier things like email were to setup from an administration perspective whereas the BB really needs BES to have the full functionality. I have only had the phone crash once since my use and that was due to a 3rd party app. However, the Dash in combo with the new Windows Mobile 6.1 is very slick, fast near-Blackberry stable and smoother than the Blackberry OS (in terms of appearance and such). In addition, its WiFi is more useful (there are a limited number of Blackberry WiFi enabled apps out there).
In terms of build quality, both are strong contenders, but I would give it to the Dash. The rubberized backing of the device is very durable and hard to scratch, vs. the Curves plasticky finish that scratches easily. The materials on the Dash are nicer overall. Plus, the Blackberry uses the trackball, and while cool, it gets dirty fast and is finicky sometimes. The large D-Pad on the Dash was never a problem. |
