Its hard to say, both are solid in the reception/call quality department. The Curve has a better keypad for sure, the keys are not as tightly packed together and it has great tactile feedback. The OS is also rock solid. I have only had the phone crash once since my use and that was due to a 3rd party app. However, the Dash in combo with the new Windows Mobile 6.1 is very slick, fast near-Blackberry stable and smoother than the Blackberry OS (in terms of appearance and such). In addition, its WiFi is more useful (there are a limited number of Blackberry WiFi enabled apps out there).

In terms of build quality, both are strong contenders, but I would give it to the Dash. The rubberized backing of the device is very durable and hard to scratch, vs. the Curves plasticky finish that scratches easily. The materials on the Dash are nicer overall. Plus, the Blackberry uses the trackball, and while cool, it gets dirty fast and is finicky sometimes. The large D-Pad on the Dash was never a problem.

Had a chance to play with the Dash this weekend and I really like it. Normally I'd say go with the Blackberry but the Dash definitely packs a big punch for a great price.

I'm planning on replacing my aging Wizard with the Dash if HTC doesn't release anything in a similar form factor tomorrow I'll definitely be going ahead and buying one. I do quite a bit of consulting work related to Exchange mobility so I've had the chance to play with the Dash and Curve side by side and have to give another vote to the Dash. I preferred the keyboard, but what really swayed me was how much easier things like email were to setup from an administration perspective whereas the BB really needs BES to have the full functionality. Just my 2 cents

I read somewhere, the dash is coming suppose to be a coming out with a new version. do anyone know when they are rleasing the dash 2?

Wirelessly posted (HTC Wizard: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) PPC; 240x320; HTC_P3600i/1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

They already did release a Dash 2 in the form of the HTC S630, the Cavalier. However, it was never picked up by any of the American carriers and thus you have to buy it unsubsidized for around 400-450 dollars.

I'd recommend making sure your next phone has at least 128mb of RAM if you go with WM6. My dash gets bogged down pretty easily.

The 64mb of RAM really isn't that bad, especially with the 6.1 upgrade available, I consistently get around a week between resets if all I'm doing is email/phone calls/internet browsing with 2 or 3 hours of music a week.

I disagree with the Curve having a better keypad. I prefer the Dash keypad over most others.
