Cable 2 Connect 2 iPhones??

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Does anyone think it is possible to re-wire an iPhone's USB data cable to actually connect 2 iPhones together just like a network crossover cable for computers?? Obviously some major surgery would be necessary since we need a docking plug on each side of the cable to connect the iPhones. Then we would need a little software or web application to alow the transfer of ringtones, wallpapers and songs in between phones.

That sounds like a lot of work...

Just One Question:
Why would you for any reason want to do this?

Well, maybe your friends want a picture you took with your phone on their phone without the hassle of going to their computer, downloading it off from an email, and syncing through iTunes. Maybe you want to share with your friends some ringtones you made, which most, if not all, phones with bluetooth capability can do.
Maybe just for the heck of it....

There's an app that lets you send files to other iPhones. Can't think of the name (or limitations, for that matter).

That sounds like what I am looking for... Does anyone know the name and limitations of this app??

The name of the app is Drop Copy. I've used to send songs back and forth between phones. Works well.
