I just noticed that when I go into Settings. . General. . . About. Above the Network it says "Mikey's Phone"

But my name is not Mikey and I am not sure why that is there. Has anyone else noticed a different name in this area? Or how to change it? This is not the name I set my phone up with when I bought it new from Apple in October. I tunes recogonises the correct name.

Figure it would be harder to legally change my name to Mikey than to change my phone so any help would be appreciated.

Mine says my name... and thats the name I set for it when i first plugged it into iTunes. When it asks to restore from backup or start a new iPhone... you start a new one and it will ask you to name it.

When you plug your phone into iTunes, does it come up as Mikey's Phone?

Anyhow... Im pretty sure that if you want to change that name, your going to have to plug your phone into your computer and do it from iTunes.

yeah,sounds like you synced it with a version of a backup that was called "mikey"....i accidentally synced my girlfriend's phone to one of my backups once anyway,just plug it into itunes and next to the device icon it should say the name..you can rename it like a file name,but it'll sync for a few seconds to change the name

That did the tric. Thanks. But I am wondering how it happened, because I do not know a Mikey and no one else has access to my computer or phone.

I'm not sure why that would happen, although way back when unlocking first started and we activated by replacing a patched lockdownd file i had a similar problem. my phone was called jiphone, so maybe it's related? I had to edit the file to change it back.
