I have an interview with the store manager of ATT tomorrow and I was just wondering what kid of questions would be asked, how to come about answering it, what to expect and what not to do. I have really good sales experience, but for some reason when it comes down to an interview I get really nervous and blanked out. If someone can please help I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm sorry I can't even figure out why I am working for AT&T, I can't give you any advice what you might want to say, or better yet why you might want to even go through an inteview with AT&T.

Honestly, just look at the interview as a sale just like any other. Your task is to sell your interviewer on hiring you.

there's a sticky that covers questions like this.

In my store we always ask the potential to sell us a random item in the room... Highlighter was the last one we did, before that we did a tape dispenser. I don't know if this is common practice but I've always thought it was a good way to determine basic sales ability...

If they ask, "What do you consider as 'closing the sale'?"

Say, "Alrighty then, let's get you signed up!"

During my interview she told me that was perfect.

be very talkative, don't be short with your answers. and be ready for several situational questions, like what you would do/or have done in certain circumstances

"Why shold we hire you over the others"

" I love to sell, this is what I do. I know my products, I can sale ice cream to an Eskimo, and a router to Bill Gates"

In my store, if you are in there more than 5 minutes, you are doing good.

Alright the interview was actually rescheduled for yesterday, I was atually in the interview for an hour an half. Asked me at least 10 situation questions and I believe I did pretty well. What do you guys think? Do I have a shot at it?

You'll know soon enough. I would wait two days and then follow up.

The manager actually told me that I will recieve an answer within a week, either a phone call meaning I am hired, or an email saying thank you for comign to the interview (meaning not hired). Should I still follow up in 2 days or leave it as is? BTW how come you guys are saying it is a bad thing to work for ATT? any info people can share? Thanks

I Had My Interview A Few Weeks Back. She Didnt Have The Paper Or Whatever They Go Buy While Interviewing,And I Didnt Have My Resume With Me. She said we will try this without my resume or the guide she usually goes by...i knocked the interview out.i called her the next day to fax my resume and she said i was hired......just go in there and sell yourself man...be confident that you are the best employee they will interview

I had an interview with AT&T 3 months ago and I just talked to the recruiting department the other week and they still said I am being considered for employment.

On a side note, I got hired with T-Mobile part time and my first day is tomorrow. T-Mobile is much faster than AT&T when it comes to seeking a job. Again, this is just my experience.

And I find it funny that I am much more qualified to sell AT&T than T-Mobile since I know NOTHING about the current T-Mobile phones and plans and I know EVERYTHING about the current AT&T phones and plans.

I know that ATT always use the STAR process, can some of you guys give me some examples and how would you come about answering? I did my interview and I believe I did ok but I just want to learn more and prepare myself for a future interview. So if you guys can please give me some examples of the STAR interview it would be really helpful. Thank you

I am having another interview with another ATT. I believe I was asked at least 8 Situation, Task, Action, Result questions, do anybody know the average amount of these questions do they ask?

^^^That Sounds about right

Alright guys, I just got a call and said that I was hired, the only thing left is for a background check and drug test. Now im currently on vacation at mexico so I couldn't speak to the lady for too long. All I remember her saying is that I would start on 06/02/08 but the training courses are on 7/2/08 for two weeks. Now is this a mistake or how does ATT work because I figured that if we don't go through traning we would not be able to work on the floor at the store. But I just want to thank you guys for the help, made me feel confident about the interview. BTW last question, on the earlier posts, people said "why work for att" what is so bad about the company. Just want a heads up before I make any decisions. Thank you.

Well glad you got the job..... I applied had the interview but didn't get the job. What did you do.....I hope to have another interview because ATT posted for a sales rep just 5 min away from where I live. This time I even went to the store droped of my resume and met with the store manager. I want this to be the one!!

Well basically I just went in there, learned the STAR interview process. The manager is still human, just talk with them and make them feel comfortable. Don't walk in there talking like a robot and dont keep your mouth shut, just keep talking. The last thing is when it gets towards the end, when they ask you do you have any questions? Just answer yes and have a list of questions to ask because in my opinion, that is when the interview really starts.
