VZW: Samsung Glyde or LG Venus

So I'm up for getting a new phone, but (as almost always), I don't particularly like ANY of Verizon's current selection. I've been waiting for the Glyde to come out for months, and now that it's out it seems like people are having a lot of issues with the functionality and form of it.
Of all of Verizon's phones, I want the Blackberry Pearl, but am not willing to pay for the blackberry plan, as I dont need a data plan. That really just leaves me with the LG Venus, which only seems ok, or the Glyde. I know only a few people have the Glyde so far, since its not technically released yet, but I'm torn between these two phones.
Any insight is helpful. Thanks!

most of the issues with the glyde can be fixed via settings or firmware updates
so id go with that
specially if you are a heavy texter
