Hi guys, don't suppose anyone can help,my son found a Sony Erickson k800i some time ago took it to the police station but no one claimed it after a certain time so they said he could have it.
The problem is it must have been a contract phone as it has been locked, he bought a similar phone Sony Ericsson with the same network and tried his Sim card in the found phone but it says Sim not recognized.
That's with trying his Sim and the Sim that was already in the phone and it comes up with the same sim not recognized is there any way that this phone can be used again? Thanks

Yea he can, with a bit of modding he can apply a patch that unlocks the phone..
Try searching around here or google for 'patch unlock k800' and see what you get. Note it will erase everything in the phone (except probably paired bluetooth devices).
Welcome to HoFo.

Is the new SIM card working with another phone? The old SIM card is certainly invalid/expired.
