"Kate" broke my iphone!

has anybody installed the Kate program that is one of the featured programs in the Installer? I didnt really know what it was but I installed it. I then opened the program and pressed apply. it restarted my phone, but now its all messed up.

every button on the home screen is usable. HOWEVER as soon as i go into something such as installer or settings, none of the buttons are usable except for the very very top row. its really weird.

i cant even uninstall it because i cant get to that screen in installer. how can i uninstall this manually? is that all i would need to do? it seemed like it did some fancy stuff when i hit the apply button...thanks

Damn KATE!!!

Now who wants to pay the $45 for Catapilar/Kate ....:P

The developers of that app must be having a bloody laugh

K-K-K-K Katie...oh beautiful Katie...

Just looking at the description, it was clearly something I would never need or want to install. Take responsibility!

I am glad I read the description before I install it. Of course after reading it, I still didn't know what this program was suppose to do. Maybe it was the $45 fee that caught my attention not to install it.

I installed Kate but it won't start; I get a low disk space error message and then it kicks me out to the springboard. Lucky break, I guess...

Anyway, anyone have any opinions about whether it's safe to uninstall it?

Just answered my own question. I uninstalled it and all seems ok, gulp...

How can an app that tanks our iphones get released?

I know, I know, that's the risk we take by hacking our iphones...

Download IBRICKR
REMOVE "dock" files from
usr/local/bin/dock
Restart phone
The screen then becomes responsive.
Goto KATE, untick all the boxes, and press apply.
Uninstall from installer.
Enjoy phone.

Works perfectly on my phone. It's an awesome program.

I installed it. But one of the options was to hide or show the text of buttons in the docking bar. When it expired it removed the text for the buttons. So no "phone" or "safari" anymore. Anyone know how to get the phone to pre kate status besides reintalling the os

That's an option in summerboard.

Install the default theme with summerboard and don't hide the labels.

Not with your friend, but I killed one of my own friends when he messed with my phone. And it DID solve the problem.

So you may want to try it!

YMMV
