Just purchased this phone (supposely brand new and never opened) from ebay, should be receiving it on the 9th. I would like to know what is the most current software and the most current PRL for this phone?

Lastly, anyway for me to find out for certain if this is a brand new and never been activated phone by going through the menu or typing in some code on the phone?

Bump please

Mine has firmware 1.004SP, PRL 50511. No OTA firmware updates since around July last year, I updated PRL last week.

^ Got the phone and havent activated yet.

The phone says "Life Timer 0", "Life Data OK", "Reconditioned NO"

So, the phone seems brand new and everything was packed as brand new besides the battery, please read below.

My concerned is the battery as it was not in a plastic sleeve AND when I put the battery in and turned on the phone it had a full charge which is very weird for a brand new battery. Shouldnt the battery if it was never used and charged NOT be fully charged?

Can someone please give me the model number that is located on the standard battery that came with their Sanyo SCP-7050? I want to make sure this is the correct battery.

The original battery is a Sanyo SCP-22LBPS 3.7V.

I hope this is the last "stupid" question I have to ask

When the phone is off and I want to see the clock from the outside display it seems like all the outside side buttons turn on the small display that is located in front of the phone. What key is the one that should be used when I want to glance at the time? (tried looking in the directions but can not find my answer)

I use the side keys to see the time on the outside display, and the "Analog clock 3" setting under Display, Clock/Calendar for the inside display to keep the clock visible.

Thanks for all the comments. I have been using the phone for a few days now.

I have a few questions. First, for a military spec phone my phone certaintly creeks a lot more than I would think it should since it is new. Does your phone creek?

Also, does this phone have any voice commands besides the "voice tags"? Voice Dial?

Anyway to use the GPS feature with some kind of free software so I do not have to pay Sprint to use the GPS navigation feature?

Lastly, does your earpiece sometimes sound a little muddy or fuzzy when talking to someone?

I really do appreciate all the help.

No creaking here, maybe some silicon lube?

Haven't used voice commands.

Sprint wants you to rent software for the GPS, but I don't use it enough for that so I installed Mobile GMaps. I believe you can rent the GPS application by the day for occasional use. It really was a disappointment to see the Bluetooth and GPS crippled by Sprint Marketing, and this will prevent any further purchases for me. I use AT&T GSM for personal use (Sprint for company) and the phone selection is much better without the crippling restrictions I've experienced with both Verizon and Sprint.

The earpiece does sound overdriven occasionally, I don't know if it is a firmware fixable issue or not, but it doesn't seem related to the earpiece volume. Even calling *2 it will overdrive, but not when calling non-Sprint users. I can live with this annoyance.

You think if i bring my phone to the local Sprint location and show them how badly it creeks that they will exchange it for another brand new one? I will press the ##786# to prove that I just received it by showing that it has less than 100 minutes of use.
