Hey all,
This is my first smart phone and I'm a big time noobie. I like to use the alarm on my cell phones, but also don't like to be disturbed by phone calls and text messages while I sleep. I know on my touch, when I turn off the ringer, the alarm won't work. Is there a program or a solution around this? Thx

I've also tried searching this forum with negative results so far.

You can always turn radio off...

Try setting it to flight mode.

I also noticed this, but couldn't think of any other solution other than that provided above. You just have to remember to turn it off when you wake up.

For me I don't have a problem with it since I sleep with ear-plugs (quite noisy in my house in the morning and always wakes me up) and the ring/vibrate alarm gets me. It would've been nice if you could have it vibrate only during the alarm though.

Click on the volume icon on the home screen. On the two options present there, put the left one to maximum volume or the volume you want, while keep the right one to the least volume. This way you can keep the phone ring in silent but still listening to your alarm in the morning...

Let me know if this works,,,,will get you for text message as well..

Thanks for the replies. The only solution so far is to turn off the radio. I also tried the volume switch on the side and that doesn't work. Thx.

try program called alc 2007 lite. you can leave the cell on vibrate and customize the sound when it rings. it will turn up when the alarm rings

You could probably write a script to forward all calls to voicemail or whatever and just activate that before you go to sleep.

Thanks guys. Remember I'm a hardcore noob! What is a "script" and how do I write one?!

Where can I find alc 2007 lite? tia

I had the same problem so what I did was record silence and set it as my ringer a message alert so that way I could keep my volume up for my alarm

Are you sure you tried this option?

You can set your phone ringer on silent or vibrate while still having sound for the rest of the applications such as your alarm. Sounds like you were using the volume toggle on the side of the phone and not the screen icon at the top of your home screen. Just touch the speaker symbol and you'll see 2 volume adjustments... one for sound and the other for the ringer.
