Does the bluetooth and infrared work with file transfer?
any problems with the camera??

etc etc??

I'm seriously considering this phone, your comments are appreciated

I don't think any Japanese phones allow Bluetooth file transfer. Not even My P905i has the ability to do that.

Bluetooth in Japan is only for 1) A2DP 2) Bluetooth headset 3) Playing games 4) Maybe transfering contact info.

IrSimple is the method that Japanese phones mainly use. Also, note that Panasonic is one of the few manufactures in Japan that uses Bluetooth. Not many other FOMAs actually use bluetooth so I doubt F905i has it.

I really don't understand this about Japanese phones as IR is so old fashioned & slow.

Hmm, have you actually used IR to transfer files? It takes under five seconds to send a 200KB file. Honestly, I doubt that most people are using iR to transfer 5 megapixel camera shots. So for the purpose of sending simple snapshots its perfectly adequate.

Yes I have in the good old days before BT on phones.

If it was so great why would most companies be phasing it out?

I tend to mostly move around large files like video clips & BT is ideal for this, especially for transferring stuff on to to my Mac laptop. Just because you might not be moving large files don't assume that's the same for everyone else.

Most non-Japanese companies are, yes. Japanese companies are further developing it. I believe IRSimple is used now on most phones, which can send a 500KB image in one second or something like that.

Blimey that's impressive for IR. Is it unlikely that Japanese phones will have improved BT in the near future?

I live in the US, in Georgia actually, currently using Cingular. Is there any problems with this service if I use an sim hack. Also any info on what features this can be used with the hack sim.

OK. First off, you may need to keep your old phone on hand. Sometimes it will lose signal and you will have to regain it using the old phone (side-effect of the SIM hack). Second- no internet or any data-related services, and no TV either. You can do pretty much everything else (camera/music/video/games/text/call).

im trying to get SMS texts to work. I receive them just fine but when I try to send one it says, "message rejected by recipient" so I am trying to look around. I am also trying to hide my phone number on an outgoing call. Other than that I have had no problems with the F905i.

Any suggestion where to find one for cheap? Because I keep seeing them for like $500+

Well there was a Pink one that went for about 450 a week ago.....and you could always use the "or best offer" option for the ones that go for 550 and hope they accept your best offer lol
