WOW havent posted in a while life been crazy. Have a baby girl now

Well I sold my iPhone today on ebay in antisapation of the new 3G model. Took the SIM out and put it in my old trusty Nokia 6085, to my surprise the data doesnt work. I looked at the settings and it is set to wap.cingular, but I cant access anything, every time I try media net or gmail app I get that this program requeres working data connection. I know this phones data worked before, when I used my SIM card from tilt and such. Is it because of the iPHones diffrent data plan ? Do I have to call CS and change the data plan ? Thanks for any help.

Congrats on the baby!

Yes, at&t have been blocking access to medianet if you have the iphone data on your account. You will need to call and change your data to medianet.

Thanks for the reply, whats strange is that when I was driving this morning, in the car I was able to hit GMAIL. Now I`m at work and it still works, very strange, I will try again at home and see how it is. Thanks for the congrats I now a proud owner of a real

Disable the AT&T proxy, and it should work.

Where is the proxy on this one ? Looked thru all the options all I see is wap.cingular thats it, I dont even see where I put the username and password in.

Not sure without it in front of me. Look in options/settings for the connection tab, I think.

I think you might be able to connect to the web as is right now, but won't be able to access the AT&T wap portal.

Yeah, Gmail & things like opera mini, may work but if you need to access medianet it won't. try sending a picture message, it probably won't work.

I know with my phones I can use 3rd party apps like opera & jivetalk but not MMS or medianet browser.

mediaNet browser worked.... I haven't sent an MMS yet. don't know why it didn't work at home.

Well, I just tried my iphone sim in my razr v3 & medianet & MMS worked fine. Now, when I tried it about a week ago it would not work, I just kept getting error messages. I'm going to keep my sim in the razr overnight to see if it stops working again.

Is it based on location ? (of course I would never think that)

don't think so, there were a lot of people having the same issues a while back, check out the two threads below. maybe they changed something & are allowing it again.

Wow I guess I should of searched a bit better. But it was working all day today. Maybe because the network learned that its not an iPhone ? I know before I activated the iPhone on the ATT I was using it unlocked and activated hacked, and my OLAM showed that I had iPhone and at one point I had discount removed.....

You say you had your iphone hacked, did you use medianet data or did you add the iphone data with visual voicemail?
Anyway, the iphone data was still working in my razr as of this morning. I moved the sim to my BB pearl & medianet & MMS worked fine there too. I have it back in the iphone now, so later this evening i will switch it around again & see what happens.

Just tried my sim in the razr again and got access denied error when trying to access medianet.

Sorry didnt answer before, my iPhone originally was hacked and I was using medianet, then I activated, for the last 3-4 months I was on a regular iPhone plan (secount line)
Still works as of 4am feeding

, I hope they are just preping for the iPhone 2 launch and tweaking the system and thats why the inconsistency

I think if I had kept the sim in one of the other phones it would have continued to work, but I switched back to the iphone & then switched again. that was were most people were having trouble. The system seems to scan the imei of the iphone & block access through the proxy, the iphone doesn't use the proxy, regular medianet does.

Anyway, hope it lasts for you!

Yeah I think thats what happens, after you keep the phone on the network for a while and it registers the IMEI, then you can use it, I guess thats why it didnt work for me at the evening, but then worked in the morning. So there the trick is learned!!!! Now give me the new iPhone
