Third party charges on bills, can someone explain.

Hi, Can someone please explain how companies like Ringaza, Trivia Alert..... are billing on the cell phone bills? Are peoples cell phone numbers being supplied to these people and then the companies get paid to do their billing? It's a real pain in the *** and makes people really mad. Help please.

I have 3 lines on my account, (mine, gf's, mom's) I've been dealing with a company called b4prizes since January, because they keep billing my moms line 9.99 a month, I've been round and round with their cs people, alltel's and followed every procedure I can to get them to stop. But I keep getting charged every month. It's random, my mom doesn't use her phone but to call a handful of people, no txt messaging, doesn't hardly use the internet, I'm curious how they can just start charging people out of the blue.

Soon as I figure out why they're charging one of my lines for no reason, I'll let you know

It is a real pain in the butt though.
