AT&T: Centro vs. BlackJack II

Hi there! Last night I switched over from Verizon to AT&T and chose a Samsung BlackJack II over the Palm Centro. But I'm having second thoughts. I liked how thin the BlackJack was as opposed to the Centro, but the keyboard on the Centro seemed easier to use because of the rubber grip.

Any suggestions/feedback? Thank guys!

Wirelessly posted (HTC Wizard: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11) PPC; 240x320; HTC_P3600i/1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

Srick with the BJ2, the Centro is using Palm OS5, which was great....when it came out in 2003. The BJ uses WM6, a much newer OS that supports things such as multitasking, more than two radios, and doesn't have the constant soft resets that will plague you with the Centro. The BJ also has the GPS, which if you got a data plan as well can be used with Google Maps or Windows Live Search to get turn by turn directions and other cool features. Hope this helps!

Yes I second that opinion. I was on the same boat. Had a Treo 680, which was great, easy to use. But it was limited, mainly due to the legacy OS. I craved for multi-tasking abilities, as well as other things that are Windows specific but not covered by Palm.

My 680 broke, and I was thinking of going to the Centro. But due to it's still thinker body, as well as the OS limitiations, I switched over to a BJII. I have been very happy. The only 2 issues I have/miss are: lack of touch screen (I still miss it occasionally), and the god-awful 3 button push to unlock the phone (keyboard lock). Palm makes it so much easier to lock & unlock your phone, as I like to carry it in my pocket.

Thought I would miss some Palm software, but I have found equivalnts to all my important apps on WM6. Do miss some of the touch screen games that cannot be had on WM6 non-touch edition.

Good luck.
