I have 2 minor issues, maybe someone can assist.

after JB/Activating/unlocking w/iLiberty, i cannot get to youtube, i get an error that it needs to connect to itunes???

Also, how do you add sources to the installer it uses?

Thanks.

Which version of iLiberty + are you using?

I used the latest version which has an option to Fix Youtube certificate issue. I checked the Youtube Fix.

I jailbroke, unlocked, and activated with iLiberty fine. Try using that option to Fix Youtube.

I don't have issues with my Youtube.

There is a Source icon in Installer, then edit on upper right, and then Add on upper left... you just enter the App url (web address) into the space.

I've got the latest iLiberty+ v 1.3.0.113 and tried it today... the YouTube fix didn't work for me. I was sure to check that option before I hit the "Go For it" button.

I had to install the YouTube patch from installer. Fortunately, it fixed the Yahoo mail problem too.

Btw, iLiberty+ doesn't install "Installer" app be default. It installs "Cydia", which is a fancier version, but doesn't allow you to add sources, which is a bit of pain. It has potential, so it's worthwhile keeping it to see what the developers will do in the future.

To get Installer, you'll have to either install manually (but no open ssh either ) or restore your iPhone and run iLiberty again. This time, go to the "Advanced" tab, click the "Refresh" button, go to the "Local" payload tab and tick "Installer". DO THIS PROCESS BEFORE YOU HIT THE "GO FOR IT" BUTTON.

There is an app in Installer called "You Tube Activator 1.1.4". It's in the "Tweaks 1.1.4" section. If it's not showing up on installer, you have to add this source:

sleepers.net/iphonerepo

Let it refresh and it should show up.

glad you chose the smart route
i just want to smack people when they use Zi**** they think its the beset when is the most unsafe way to mess with your iphone/ipod touch.

And its stolen code! what a thief zibri is

So what to do if neither of the youtube fixes works???

I just can't catch a break with this stuff. Mine was working fine with 1.1.3 until I had to go messing around in ssh and had to restore... so I was stuck upgrading to 1.1.4. Now, if I use ziphone, I can't access Yahoo mail. With iLiberty+, youtube doesn't work right.

However, every link I can find for iLiberty+ is down, and the only mirror I found had 1.2.0.65... I never found 1.3.0.113 that was mentioned in this thread.

*edit* I found 1.3.0.113 and ran it... still no youtube. Do I need to restore again and try it fresh? Forget it. Screw youtube. I can live with it until 2.0 comes out I guess.

So out of nowhere, today Yahoo decided to stop working on my iLiberty+ jailbroken phone... along with YouTube which never worked. Seems like iLiberty is crap too.

From my experience, I'd suggest people stick with 1.1.3 and the older (2.5?) Ziphone.

Didn't work for me.

This happened to me as well, only it wasn't just YouTube it was almost everything. What I discovered was that everything works MUCH better if you do a full restore in iTunes and set your iPhone up as a NEW PHONE rather than using your backup. Yes it's a pain to lose your emails & all your settings, but iLiberty works SO much better installing over fresh settings & everything should work correctly.

Also - when I downloaded iLiberty & opened it for the first time, it immediately asked me to update it. Updating it & using the updated version seemed to cause a lot of problems. After restoring through iTunes, I un-installed iLiberty & re-installed, but DID NOT update when it asked me to. The un-updated version worked SO much better & I have had no problems.

I used ziphone the first time I jailbroke. But after a restore I used iDemocracy. I tried iliberty several times, and no matter what I did, I could not get it to install installer. It would go to pass 2, and then it would fail, and restart the phone without it.

I gave up on it.

Restored the phone, reran iLiberty+ without checking YouTube fix and now everything works.

For me it did.

I just unlocked 1.1.4 with iLiberty, everything works fine including youtube. I didn't have to install any fixes. The only thing that doesn't work is the auto-check function. In settings after I set it to check every 15 mins and exit, it returns to manual everytime I return to it. Is there a fix for this?
