Something Wrong With The N905i?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This phone is at the top of my list of the 905 series to get, but I noticed their isn't many owners of it on here. Their seems to be more F905i owners & that is supposed to be a 'rare' phone.

So is their some issue with the N905i?

I have the N905i. The interface is complicated gets getting used to.
Nothing is "wrong" with it.

I only have beef with one thing, no bluetooth and no mp3 playback.

Other things is that it doesn't sync up WMP11 on Xp but it does on Vista.
People have trouble detecting the phone when using USB cable as well.

Otherwise I find it being the top phone. People generally don't like the styling,
I think that's why it's so unpopular.

Here's a pic of mine on the docking station:

Thanks for the feedback, so it's purely down to the design & nothing else as to why it appears to be less popular? I had heard the screen wasn't as good as some of the other 905 phones?

i think the black is nice, esp the u

The screen isn't as nice, isn't as crisp as the P or SH, but the SH is on it's own level, everyone knows how nice the Aquos is. The P's screen is I'd say a tad better, nothing to get your panties all bunched up over though. N's still very nice. The face recognition on the camera is amazing.

Excellent suff, I had heard the camera was good, supposed to be on a par with the P905i but not as good as the SO905iCs.

Is it's camera fast, you know speed starting up, speed to get AF lock & speed to save pictures?

Start up speed is ok. AF lock is about same speed as my N95, cool thing is you can manually af lock but not sure how much you would use that function.

The N905i night shooting can't compare to any of the Xenon flash cameras though, since all it is is a torch light on the back.

Yeah it's kind of curious that even the SO905iCs only has a LED flash & not a Xenon.

Yea I really don't understand why they did not incorporate something as simple as xenon flash or mp3 playback or bluetooth, you would figure that the most advance phones would have these basic functions.

Because I'm a heavy user of the camera on my N95 I am almost considering not using my N905i, it's either that or I buy a slim point and shoot camera and bring that around everywhere. I just hate bringing stuff with me.

I wonder if the 906 series will improve on this?

Do any of them have a Xenon flash?

no matter how you guys complain, your demographic is not mind when they are designing and making phones, you are not part of the japanese market therefore you will just have to get over it and go with the flow.

I don't find myself complaining, I'm just pointing out the flaws of the phones before he commits and blows 600 odd dollars on a phone he won't be happy with.

I do understand why MP3 is not playable or bluetooth because in Japan they use the other file transferring system where you put two phones on top of each other.

And that with a FOMA card you download ring tones and such through that.

I fully understand that these phones were never made for us, I'm just telling a fellow member what to look out for.

I still love these phones, Super Chimp happens to want a phone I have, and happens to be using a phone I have as well.

I'm still in a dilemma myself, as my friend has cash for my N95 (that I planned to sell after I got my N905i) but the N905i did not live up to my expectations so now I need to think long and hard.

Yes we are aware of that.

It's still a discussion forum last time I looked so the whole idea is to discuss things like this.
