Hello all,

Just did a warranty exchange on my BJ and went ahead and uploaded WM6. So far, I like it alot, but I need to change the right soft key from "Contacts" to "Calendar".

I have searched and searched, and I think most of yall will agree that the search function on this site is pretty useless.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks a ton,
Mike

You might want to consider using a program called Right Menu. I've used it for sometime now and it works very well on the Blackjack and other standard devices as well as professional devices. I have the programs I use the most available to me by a quick thumb press which adds to the one-handedness of the device. It is pretty flexible and you can change the order of the items etc. very easily.

Thanks my man, I will look into it.

I would prefer a "free" option, but if nothing else pans out I will consider it.

Thanks again for the response.

Can anyone comment on this procedure?

I found a registry hack to reprogram the right soft key. The following is the instructions.

First run SDA_ApplicationUnlock.exe on the PC connected to the Blackjack.

Run regedit.exe on the Blackjack and go to:

[HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Home]

Create a key named 'Keys ' in here, and then ANOTHER key named '113' in ?Keys?.

Next, create the following string values:

First Value: 'Default'
Value Data: The text you would like on the key ... (GPC on sample screenshot)

Second value: 'Open'
Value data = "PATH OF EXE or LNK FILE" <--- example is "\Windows\tmail.exe" (it is important to enclose them in quotes)

Power Down and Restart.

Example for Speed Dial

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Home\Keys\113 ]
default = Speed Dial
open ="\Windows\Start Menu\Applications\Speed Dial.lnk"

Success!

My right soft key is now the Calendar, "\Windows\Start Menu\Calendar.lnk".

Peace Out Hofo.
