I have used the hdvdq to bypass the need for activation and im currently on 1.0 iphone firmware, is it possible to update my iphone to 1.1.4 and still have the need for activation bypassed, im not interested in jailbreaking really. I'm talking about updating through iTunes. Any suggestions?

anyone have an idea on this???

from my understanding, upgrading your iphone will cause it to unactivate but there are tons of tools out there to get it working again. I believe some if not all need to jailbreak to activate.

So then if I want to update the firmware I basically have to jailbreak? I actually dont want to jailbreak because that will void the warranty on the phone if apple or att find out and im not really amazed by what jailbreaking fan do for me, oh well thanks anyways but if anybody else has found a way to do it please post how to do it here

uhh yea.

So this is all you have to do..restore via itunes. Download iliberty+. Check activate ONLY!

Thats it!

But honestly i would hate the iphone if it wasnt for installer/jailbreaking. Apple and ATT will never find out as lond as you hit before you want to send it in or take it to a genuis bar

I'm going to try and do that, and I agree about the jailbreaking but I dont want to take any chances and void the warranty with apple
