I am now looking at the P1, but alas! It is a P1i, with no 850 MHz. Is there a way to mod the P1i? Maybe find an old P910a, or one of those K models, or the W's and use their antenna chips? Would there be compatibility issues? Has anybody tried it? It would really be great if someone knowledgeable in the phone electronics field could try this and see how it works. Or if they can get the parts specifications from such resources as EE Times' Under the hood and research the practicality of an antenna chip swap. I am willing to spend another $200 just to have a fully functional and reception/sigal strength dependable P1a . |
