Wirelessly posted (AT&T 8525/HTC Hermes 100: Opera/9.50 (J2ME/MIDP; Opera Mini/4.1.10781/302; U; en))

I'm interested in hearing how the official AT&T 8525/HTC WM6 upgrade went for anyone else. It did more damage than good for me.

Well, if you search the forums you'll find the answer to your question.

There are lots of discussions of Hermes devices running WM6, both good and bad experiences.

Device slowed to where it has limited usage. PIE freezes after <5 pages. No browsers function except Opera Mini. Email & text-messages self-delete upon reboot. New WM6 features, such as streaming video (RealPlayer), Windows Update, & "Cingular Vodeo" do not work. Pre-installed root certificates can't be recognized. Following instructions to install root certificates don't work. Even "Solitaire" is corrupt (not my biggest concern).

The only new items that work are PTT & links to AT&T's online retail services.

Will probably drop HTC/AT&T later this year.

On my device I get ~6 results, none of which are relevant.

i have the default htc wm6 installed and i have virtually no issues. the only thing i get which is not a wm6 issue is the screen alignment issue. a friend of mine has an 8525 and uses one of schap's installs from the xda forums. and as far as i know, he has absolutely no issues related to wm6. try a hard reset. in settings click "clear storage" and follow through the steps. hope this helps.

What do you mean Windows Update and Cingular Video do not work?

There has not been any updates released via Windows Update, yet.

When you try to use Cingular Video, do you get an error? Are you paying for the service?

PTT is not new in WM6, it was in the original ROM.

It sounds like either you need to do a soft reset and clear IE history or do a hard reset. The issues you describe are not "normal".

I have been running the ATT WM6 ROM since it was released and have had no issues.
