Blackjack freezing up

Hey all,

Haven't been around much since I upgraded my Blackjack to WM6. I did the upgrade right after the official version became available. However, more and more lately, the phone has been freezing up and all I can do is pull the battery and reboot it. In fact, 3 or 4 times a day now so I've reverted to my razor. Also, it has been chewing up the battery like crazy...

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you.

I try upgrade the Radio ROM that didn't fix and I also tried WM6 Da_G Beta 2 (the latest one) still having the same problem.
I just keep checking the phone to see if it able to call out every hour. If i was able to then the phone did not freeze if not i take out the batt and restart the phone.

I dont know what could it be. I just gave the phone to my gf and now she is pretty piss about that problem

This is what you get for putting unsupported software on a piece of hardware.

That's a little harsh, considering the problem occured with the Official WM6 release, which is supported. They switched to a "cooked" ROM trying to solve the problems that the official release gave them.

And for what it's worth, my cooked Rom performs flawlessly, more functional then the official release.

What other apps do you have on the phone? I can tell you some versions of popular shareware apps don't get along with the BJ (or the Q) too well.

The cooked rom mentioned was Beta 2, so I think you're referring to DA_G's 6.1. Have you tried WM6 Beta 6 just to see if that solves the issue? That cook is just the official release with a few choice tweaks.

Hey Genius, I'm using official, sanctioned, OEM, genuine, not bootlegged, not cooked, no fecal-matter, honest-to-god copyrighted samsung software. Jump off you high horse and pull your head out yo butt. Try reading the post thoroughly. If you can't contribute anything of substance, keep your posts to yourself.

Thank you, have a nice day

I doubt that's the problem. I get the same issue and don't have unsupported software on mine. I tried wiping the whole thing out and still got the problem.

I'm getting both issues as well - phone unexpectedly losing network (even though it appears normal) and battery draining quickly sometimes. I do know that pulling the battery is overkill - just an on/off cycle works to get it working again.

Ok here's an example.. today I tried simply sending an MMS. Said that sending failed.

I went to my outbox and tried again. Failed.

Turned the phone off and back on again.

Success.

This happens CONSTANTLY with WAP.. even sometimes when trying to get on the internet. I'll OFTEN get a blank white screen.

I'll quit the application via task manager, try again... Blank white screen.

Turn off the phone, throw it across the room, pick up the pieces, solder it back together, power on.... works.
