Going wireless and faxes

Considering going totally wireless.
Dumped my fax machine years ago as all I received were spam ads. All my clients use email and pdfs.

Not concerned about incoming faxes but I do have suppliers that don't do email so I need to fax in orders.
All my outgoing faxes are created in Word or some other program.

Sprint and Verizon are my two best service choices locally.

What do I need as far as phone brand, cables, etc. to be able to fax out only?
Anything else you would like to add is fine.

Thanks
Dave

Hmmm... I know for a fact that T-mobile once supported outgoing faxes (it required an additional feature.) This was actually back in the Voicestream days. They may still offer it.

There are various internet based services that will take your word/pdf files and fax them out for a reasonable fee. I haven't used this one in a few years, because my need to deal with faxes went away, but it certainly used to work http://www.faxaway.com/

At least some Sprint phones (and probably Verizon), that support the old 2G (pre 1xrtt) "QNC" data services can work as fax modems. I believe on Verizon, it just costs air time. On Sprint, it is $0.39/min (having Vision/Powervision data on your plan doesn't alter nor subsume this charge). Some VOIP services can support faxing. Otherwise, I think you're looking at the various Internet services for sending faxes...

If you're talking about faxing from a PC you can set up a print driver that faxes using data.

Intermedia FaxSend.

Another faxaway user, not only I send out faxes (mostly to Canada which turns out to be $0.11 per page) but also receive them, the service and their support are great! Not sure how they do that when the prices are so low.
