So what do I do?

Posted by: brealmp3

i really don't know what to say. the door is wide open on this one...

I would say to a restore from DFU mode. I think that cleared my password from my phone when I did it

LMAO I agree.

@OP have you ever restored your iPhone?

Posted by: ClarkKent513

No. I've only had it for about 2 weeks so I don't even know what RESTORED means.

Restored: to bring back to a former, original, or normal condition.

I hope that helps.

Why just press the little restore button on the side. j/k of course...

Walk into any apple store and they will restore it free for you.

Hope that helps.

So what you need to realize is that more often than not, when we get this question - it is because of someone who has "found" a lost iPhone, and feels like they shouldn't have to return it ... and would just prefer to use it as their own phone, and therefore they need to bypass the security code.

Hence, committing the criminal offense of Theft of Lost or Mislaid property. So, the answers you've received so far are not very surprising.

Having said that - everything you need to know is documented in the iPhone user manual, on apple.com. Go read.

There we go someone said it... LOL

Its pretty apparent dude - Thats why I asked how he activated it cause when you connect to itunes its in your face.

Give it back buddy or bring it to Apple.

It should be 1 2 3 4.

sooooo obvious. 9 posts, doesn't list the iPhone on his profile, doesn't remember the passcode he changed last night...geez.

Assuming that's what he did. Although, given that he's on T-Mobile based on his profile, he may have bought an "unlocked" from eBay/CL ... which would remove that initial activation requirement.

Still smells very fishy though.

I agree but having it for 2 weeks and not knowing to connect to itunes is very odd.

Then again giving the benefit of the doubt to this guy maybe he just really is clueless.

Just hard to believe when My 5 yr old can run this phone and itunes. I have to tell her every now and again not to click restore in itunes. LOL

Definitely fishy.

Hey finders keepers... hold the top and bottom button until the phone shuts off and then let go of the top button but keep holding the bottom button until the itunes logo and the iphone cord pops up then plug it into your computer... a window will pop up in itunes... just follow the directions they give you from there... good luck!!!

I seriously don't think you'd say that if it was your iPhone ***.

Could be he didn't find it and he stabbed some dude in the face for it.

You would be amazed at all the iphone crimes that are happening - its just not something that hits the news until someone is killed for one.

Then again could be he just really is clueless.

I just go by common sense - if you plug your iphone in and open itunes theres a button Big as friggen day that says restore.

I personally think anyone who buys an iphone knows to connect it to itunes.

Most iPhone buyers are educated and or do a little research before they go and buy it.

Just common sense buddy.

This is why I had a pass code on my iphone. That lasted for about a week before I got tired of putting the code in everytime. You never hear for the OP again in these kinds of threads.

If I ever lose my phone, at least I know where to look

Posted by: mknapper1

ok I will agree my comment was inappropriate ... But its not like he is going to give it back anyway... Just shutting him up and tellng him... He will find out some how

Posted by: Jasper44

It's fairly obvious he found it or jacked it just based on the fact that he asked what the universal password is. Why the hell would there be a password screen everytime you try to open the phone if the password was the same on every phone. And 2nd of all if he changed it and "forgot" it, how the hell would the supposed universal password open it.

Posted by: phil325

yea i was thinking it was 1 2 3 4. if not, then possibly 0 0 0 0

Posted by: sportsfreak2159

just connect it to itunes...that gives u access to ur phone
