I've had both and I just got my Curve 8310 yesterday and I really, really like it. I got it as a backup phone to my N95-4 and I'm really surprised how good a phone the Curve is. For email and document editing the Curve wins hands down over the iPhone. The email app is nice on the iPhone but you cannot at this time add attachments or save attachments to your phone from email. The iPhone will not have any document editing apps out until the new firmware hits in June and by then the new iPhone should be out or just around the corner. Media wise the iPhone is better with the screen and built in iPod, but music quality on the Curve is quite surprisingly good (actually better than my N95). The keyboard on the Curve is possibly one of the best I've seen on a phone, but the iPhone's isn't bad if you can get used to it.Internet on Safari is great on the iPhone but the browser is crippled as you cannot download files from the internet as you can on other phones such as the N95 or Curve.

If you need advanced capabilities with your email I'd opt for the Curve at this time, but that's just my opinion. If you just want basic email to send back and forth and want a more enjoyable internet/media experience I'd go with the iPHone.

If you're waiting for rogers to release the iPhone,

by the time the iPhone comes out from Rogers, the blackberry 9000 should be out and about, and personally I believe It's alot better then the Curve, It has GPS, WiFi, 3G and alot more. Check out the review from Kevin at Crackberry.com

Are you kidding me?

I'd not even think of curve, iPhone is simply the best cell phone out in the market as of now.

You can't prove me wrong.

you can very easily be proven wrong.
i have an iphone and IT IS NOT the best phone out there! Hell, IT ISNT the best phone i ever had either.

The iphone is missing so many features. (you have to app unlock it to get ANYTHING good from it. which the average person doesnt know how to do)

so, if you were the average person and didnt know anything like that, you would probably say the iphone is a waste of money (which even i thought it was until i app/sim unlocked mine)

No phone is perfect, no phone WILL EVER be perfect. the iphone is simply a novelty toy in my opinion, ive had plenty of phones that were better then the iphone.
were they as cool as it? Of course not. Did they function better then it? Of course they did. Did they have more features? You better believe it.

Well its maybe that I haven't had any high tech phone like iPhone that I researched - I only old nokia that I still have. So when I see iPhone, it's totally different - totally new features - everything! 360 degrees changed.

Sorry, I did mean the iPhone (now or 3g) vs. 8320 curve that's coming to rogers. If the new iPhone or new firmware can allow me to make new and edit word documents, and then save+attach on e-mail, I am set on getting one. I've also heard that the new 3g iPhone will have push e-mail. I am hoping that they would make an application like "pages" so I can really do some work on it.

the new iphone will definately not have the abbility to edit word documents. Thats something for WM phones.
And as far as saving and attatching....its a possibility but no likely.

if thats the kind of stuff your looking for, get the curve

i personally sold my iphone for the curve. its all about personal preference. no matter how cool the iphone looked i would gladly trade my youtube app for the curves keyboard all over again. to me. typing was much more important then a cool gimick phone.

the new iphone looks like its gonna make the old one look like a toaster oven. but even so i'm gonna have to agree the bb9000 will be my next phone.

You can start by arguing that even on something as basic as reception on the device is one of the weakest I (and many mobile fans on these same forums) have ever experienced in recent times.

N82 and N78 all manage to pack more features than Apple's device without much girth, and still manage to keep the basics of RF to the forefront.

@cell-lover:
yeah i can see the iphone being a "super phone" to you if you never had anything like it before. but im use to touch screens (tablet pc's, pda's, etc) so it really wasnt anything amazing to me.

@dimsum05:
yeah the reception where i live on the iphone is kinda horrible. the antenna is on the bottom of the phone too so when handeling it, your almost cutting off reception.
(thats why they say to hold it a certain way, but that feels way to uncomfortable, especially when playing such games as TTR)

True. The iPhone's a fun handheld pc/gadget, and I'm certainly glad to have one, but when it comes down to what's important (to me), a BlackBerry does it better than any other device.
