anyones participation will help our bargaining committee in the development of proposals and counter proposals that may be neceessary. Your answers to the survey questions will also help them to identify any problems with the current plan and what is most important to us.

NCS= your hire date

If you aren't sure which local you're in just use mine haha
Local= 7803

As a full timer we pay a substantially LOWER amount then Part timers. So if you're a full timer please remember the little guys (part timers hee hee) and speak out about how terrible it is that they have to pay so much more even when they usually work FULL time hours. If we all speak out about it there is a better chance of us getting heard. And if you dont say anything they'll make us ALL PART TIMERS!!

it only takes a few minutes!! Thanks!

part timers should not be allowed in this industry. customers keep coming back, and then a full timer has to waste his time maintaing your sale, that you should be in the store to do yourself. if i was a store manager (which would never be) i would immediatley begin to fire part timers. its just like real estate. you cant do it part time. its not fair to the full time reps. at least, thats how it is in the area i work in, maybe its different in other parts of the country.

and as far as the union- they are corrupt, like all other unions. they'll sign off on anything the company wants. be prepared to get buttf*cked like every other union contract. the union just signed off on allowing the company to take away our COU's for being below what att wants (20 in features and 40 in accessories), regardless of the store environment. so i really dont have any faith in their contract negotiation, im fully prepared to get a paycut, like i do every time they re-do the mycomp plan...and the union does nothing about that either.

dont waste your time with the freakin union.

funny, because i just made more money in features than i have in over a year...yet sold nowhere near the most that i've sold. so i dont know how you can say that your pay goes down every time they re-work the commission plan...2yrs ago it went up, last year it went down, this year it went back up. people have such short memories around here...

IMHO **** the full timers. **** isnt fair in life and ive seen full timers cause many more issues then my self.

Besides i like working a 4 hour shift. Activating 10 lines and going home.

I've never seen the union do anything that benefited a worthy employee.

Keep in mind guys how much better our competition pays their reps (yes it is more than what we make) and yet they aren't apart of any union.

Do you have factual numbers to back that up or just anecdotal 'i know a guy' evidence?

I, for one, think that things would be worse off without the union. Better to have some kind of representation than none, especially when it comes to job security.

One thing I would like changed in the new contract is for international features to not be at-risk. Where is the incentive to sell international calling/roaming to a person if you are just going to get charged back on it when they get back to the states..? I know it isn't a HUGE deal, but it bugs the poo outta me.

How many people do I need to know?

Besides that though, I've been on this board long enough to see many stories where the union failed someone.

Well, writing should be on the wall......they screwed the non-bargined people on healthcare, it would only be fair to apply that across the enterprise. With the cost of healthcare these days, one can't blame the company for making the employees take a little stake in it. Good Luck.

Well I did more sales overall this past year than the year before and guess what I got for it?? A $13,000.00 cut in pay. This year is starting out even worse. It seems they are trying to push out good sales people for new hired high school kids that think 30,000 a year is amazing.

30K a year in this job would be amazing...

But with how feature and op commissions are setup, it's impossible for me to hit any of my goals.

Then again, I only did 54 ops this past month (2nd most ops in the store about 20 behind the leader) working 32 hours a week and it's the busiest I've ever been at my location. Maybe it's just that I'm at a slow store.

If you're a part time rep working full time hours, you'll make enough in commission advancements to pay for the difference.

I wish we could rid ourselves of the Union... Which union rep do I talk to about disbanding our representation?

Posted by: gespurr

Welllll... I worked for a non-union att call center, had to quit (was moving cross-country) and then got re-hired at the call center I'm at now.. and was offered more to start

Mind you also, the call center I first worked at is in a state where the cost of living is higher.

So, there's two sides to the coin, pros and cons.

Yet, I've also seen reps fired for insane reasons while the Union Rep just sat and took notes.

simple case: Manager ****s me over, gets me suspended for a month and a half for something I didn't do, I Called the Union to let them know they had kept me suspended for a long time so as to get me to quit and lose my unemployment benefits, Union never submitted a single paper in my name. I hope CWA rots in ****ing hell.

BTW.. My training partner and former fellow RSC @ the Bronx store worked for the T-Mobile store DIRECTLY across the street from the AT&t store we worked @. He made $120,000 in one year. He quit AT&T after 2 months b/c he couldn't make in 2 months @ at&t what he could've made in 3 weeks @ T-Mobile so trust me, Our competition gets paid better. You can be like me, I love at&T's phones and technology but still get paid by a competitor or in my case, a unlocked gsm mega store. I get paided more per hour then I did @ AT&T plus I get commission on selling these unlocked phones. Ever seen your check after selling a Nokia 8800 Sapphire for $1,500? Trust guyz, as a phone company, I love at&T, As a employer, they're horrible..
