signed it.

I'm going to buy this phone whether or not AT&T decides to carry it.

It'd just be nice to save some money buying it from AT&T premier instead of buying an unlocked one (Buy.com lists it for $418.99 right now).

You realize this will give you about the same amount of control as you have over the weather, right? Nokia makes it, show it to AT&T, if they can't come to an agreement, its nixed. Maybe if your agreement reaches about 12 million people who all threaten to cancel service...

Probably for the better though.

Did you know AT&T wanted to take the wifi out of the N95? Along with Nokia Maps in exchange for TeleNav? I don't know how the hell HTC manages to pull it off on one of their devices...

Whats the point of wanting a device on AT&T if its not going to be the same device?

I have heard in two different places that there is supposed to be three different versions of the E71. E71-1 2100 Euro/Asia, E71-2 NAM (850/1900) as well as a E71-3 which might be for T-mo US. The Boy Genius Report said that they have had reports of AT&T testing the phone. This is all just rumor so I would take it with a grain of salt but it would be nice. I just hope that AT&T would not take out the wifi and I would really doubt that they would take out the gps. But the E62 was pretty lame when compared to the E61.

They would've left the GPS, just took out Nokia's mapping service (like they do with BlackBerrys [BlackBerries?]), in favor of TeleNav. They test a lot, but Nokia's at a point where they'll just release it themselves if they have to.

What I don't understand is why ATT cares if a phone has wifi. I mean who among us would have a smart phone without paying for unlimited data anyway? If anything those of us at home or a Starbucks using wifi are not clogging up the network. ATT gets the same revenue either way. A certain Cupertino CA based company has been selling a wifi enabled phone on ATT for over a year. They are about to start selling new model that will probably clog up the 3G network many of us have had to ourselves. This new ATT CEO who touts open source should start by revolutionizing the phone testing department. You just know that innovation is probably being stymied by a few little twits who don't make enough money and only have power to get off on.

Because people are retarded when it comes to that companies products and will pay the monthly service fee without questions, while on their hands and knees. Not everyone, but think about all "those" phones sold.

Nokia doesn't have that kind of drawing power. They'll get shrugged along with the rest of ATT's smartphone line up and be adcertised as a messaging device.
