I've had a Palm Treo for about 3 years now, and I LOVE all the features!

I'm thinking about switching to a Curve 8330 from Sprint.

What do you guys think? I know i'm posting in the RIM section of the forum...but I want to get a biased opinion on why i SHOULD get the curve

Some things i dont wanna lose from a phone

Touchscreen
A2DP capabilities
Extended memory slot
Qwery keyboard
Speakerphone(one that you can actually get decent volume from it)

What do you guys think...please feel free with any opinions!

Aside from touchscreen (which are overrated to high heaven)

You pretty much will love the curve for everything that you like about a phone. Plus more!

And yes. Get the curve. Its the best berry in many opinion

Why the RIM forum? Lol. Try a Smartphone one... Or the Sprint forums!

i chose the RIM forum because i was looking to get positive info about the 8330 so I can be very happy with my purchase

Well, you're going to lose that by switching. I'd say the improved stability and reliability is worth far more though. YMMV.

I was a big fan of palm based treos on both Sprint and ATT. Unfortunately palm dropped the ball in keeping the OS up to date. There are a few things I miss about my Palm devices. Inexpensive and lots of free software for one, and you could find just about any software app you wanted. There is more software for the BB now, but 3-4 years ago, the offerings were slim and more expensive.

Although it has not been a huge issue in the past year for me, as I have gotten off the road, but when I was traveling every week, I loved having the Delta and Airtran apps on my palm. You could go in, look up flights and then add them to your calendar. I never found a replacement.

But stability, superior syncing using BES and a great keyboard have me hooked, although I do dabble in Symbian S60 device from time to time. I havent missed the touch screen a bit..... and if you do, stick around, it looks like we will have a touchscreen BB at some point in time.

I got the phone yesterday!....

besided the little bit of getting used to I LOVE IT! Its an awesome phone. Besides the touchscreen that I miss...i think i like almost all features on the BB better then the Palm. If it wasnt for the trackball I wouldnt like the phone as much i think. But overall i rate the phone a 9/10...1 point off for no wi/fi and a few other small things, but i'm very happy with the switch.

Thanks for the info!

Also the A2DP works GREAT!

You're asking this in a RIM forum? What do you THINK the answer will be?

The way Palm has been lately, you could ask the same question in a Palm forum and get the same results.

But here it is again...The reason I was asking this question in the RIM forum is because i wanted to be convinced to get a BB and get rid of my Palm. I wanted reasons from biased opinions to make the switch.

Also i already posted that I got my 8330 and I love it!

It may take you a while to get used to it but a lack of touch screen is an advantage! I used Palm from the day the first one came out and hate the stylus thing.

i love my bb curve 8320.
