So I bought my iphone back at the end of December...I unlocked it and hacked it...I now run 1.1.3 with no problems (aside from it dropping signal for no reason once every few hours)....I now want to get to the newest unlocked version...How would I go about doing this? Do I have to just restore and start from scratch?

I have downloaded a bunch of things from Installer and don't want to have to start over...

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere...If so, feel free to call me whatever names you'd like...

I'd stick with what you've got. I fubar'd mine by accident and restored it to 1.1.4 thru iTunes... now I can't get it jailbroken without having problems with YouTube & Yahoo Mail... I wish I had stuck with 1.1.3.

I was wondering about the same thing too. Except when I first got the phone, it said it was version 1.1.4. Now I looked last night (just randomly looking at stuff) and it says it's version 1.1.3. I've added apps and whatnot, but I can't understand how it could have downgraded. I must have done something. But I only bought the phone last month, and I know it said it was 1.1.4.

Thing is, I plug it in iTunes and it says it's up to date (version 1.1.3.). I guess I'll just leave it go, but it has me wondering what's up...

I'm in the same boat. Just got a refurb and restored it to version 1.1.4. Really don't feel like reinstalling all the apps I had on the previous phone. Someone mentioned in another thread an app that would allow other apps to be preinstalled. I can't find the thread again. Anybody know anything about this? or can point back to that thread? Thanks...

winpwn is supposed to let you choose packages that get included in the restore file. So when you use that in iTunes, they get installed along with the jailbreak etc.

I just tried it... and I am not impressed. It "pwned" my phone, but I still can't get YouTube, Yahoo mail still doesn't work, the themes I chose to install aren't visible in Summerboard, and it didn't install the installer.app... so I have no way to install anything else.

Oh yeah... I have no cell service now. I have bars (reception) but it wont connect to the network... so the phone is unusable.

i've used winpwn and everything works (youtube, mail, etc.) i noticed though that the best way is to NOT have everything pre-installed through winpwn. just have Installer installed. when you have everything jb'd and unlocked THEN add apps through installer on your phone. but Youtube DOES WORK for once! winpwn's amazing
