Headed to Tapei and Hong Kong, need phone advice

I'm about to fly out and want to buy a kickass slider phone that will work on the AT&T Wireless network here in the United States. Can anyone make a recommendation?
Looiking for it to take advantage of all the latest features.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Pretty much any quad band GSM slider will work, or if you can find a triband, make sure that it has the 850 band.

why get those in asia when you can get it here on a us warranty and price difference be minimal.

probably a nokia 6500 slide, 6110, e65, or se w910i, something not common, but will work

Go to HK, and get high end models for cheaper, instead of paying for a branded phone or import price. Id go to HK and check out some exotic sliders

as for the kick*** part, are you looking at functionality?, rarity?

Just remember that you will not be able to get any tech support from ATT if you use a non-ATT device.

You sound like AT&T tech is going to help a lot with handset issue. I worry more about warranty than tech support.

I agree with all who suggest to buy high end phones oversea but the exchange rate sucks right now.

Thanks everyone,
Here's my thinking:

I want some degree of rarity.
I couldn't care less about AT&T's warranty or tech support.
I find that the phones sold over there are of better quality than the ones sold here.

So I was looking for some suggestions.
