3G Iphone vs LG Dare vs Blackberry Thunder

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

What does everyone think is gonna happen when they go head to head?

I'm probably going with the Thunder. Although the rendering of the Thunder shows its similar to the Iphone, the patent appears to show a qwerty keyboard.

All I want is blackberries email system on a phone that has a browser that works
as well as the Iphones. THATS IT.

I want push email on my iPhone like the BB has and THATS IT. No but seriously I do want better internet(non wifi) speeds but if I stay with tmobile doesn't look like that will ever happen. Either way I want to play with one of these new "crackberry's"

matrix your a verizon fanboy. When the voyager came out you said that pos was a iphone killer. You don't sip the kool aid you gulp it. Get out of the apple forum. You are just here to rile up feathers. I know you'll get the thunder. Of course you are. You are a fanboy. Get lost.

Rumor is 3G Iphone will have tv, that would be a big plus.

You have push email on your iPhone today (in theory - I've no idea how well it works) via Yahoo! email.

If you want your corporate email pushed - as long as your company is on a relatively recent version of Exchange, you can have push in about 4-6 weeks with firmware 2.0.

If you want the millions of apps/games that will be availble via the App Store, get the iPhone, if not, get the Blackberry.

It states in the boygenius article you quoted, that the image is not real.

Who knows what'll be available in the short term.

But there'd be a lot more apps if Apple got its stuff together and enabled more developers.

Post your source please?

Swedish mobile provider "Swisscom" announced that the 3G iPhone they are launching this summer will support GPS, TV, and 2 way video calling. Almost certain we aren't getting the 2 way video calling, but GPS and mobile TV through ATTs newly launched service seem very likely.

Swisscom announced they would sell the iPhone. That's all.

Somebody in a Swiss forum posted claims that it would be available in three colors, with TV, video calls, etc. That rumor was, of course, catapulted into "fact" within minutes.

The TV part sounds bogus because Swisscom uses the DVB-H standard, whereas ATT uses Qualcomm's MediaFLO, just like Verizon.

Then somebody better tell Engadget...they're usually above posting such things

Even so, looks like the iPhone would be a good candidate for the newly launched mobile TV service ATT has. I'm hoping

Doesn't AT&T currently have TV availableand it's considered a package/feature and costs more to do that? I have a slingbox that I use with my Treo750 that is killer, I've been waiting for the iPhone to get 3G so I could upgrade to that. I have seen a few articles that SlingMedia is working with apple to develope software for the phone so hopefully that will be released soon after the new iPhone comes out.

In regards to the Blackberry, if that sketch is accurate with the slide out keyboard I wouldn't worry too much about it affecting the iPhone sales. I used to have an 8125 with the slide out keyboard, I didn't think it would be that big of a deal... I was wrong. It lasted all of 3 months and then I got the 750. It was annoying to have to rotate my phone everytime I wanted to send a text, email or whatever when I used the keyboard.

You mean, like this?

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/...rland-3g-gps-m/

"So there was a little rumor bouncing about yesterday which claimed that Swisscom would land the iPhone. Today, Swisscom confirmed the deal while saying little else. What's interesting then is what the rest of the rumor, started by the leading Swiss newspaper, Le Matin, had to say. Namely, the 3G iPhone will be on sale in Switzerland this summer (on sale in the US by June) offering 2-way video chats, mobile TV and GPS navigation all powered by an even beefier processor."

I dunno ... seems blatantly obvious to me, what is "fact" and what is "rumor" in what Engadget reported. They even follow up their story with two links - one to the Swisscom "fact", and the other to the "rumor".

What I really want to see is MMS. I don't understand why Apple didn't support this in iPhone 1.0.

They better have figured this out. E-mail is not a replacement for MMS.

Knowing Apple I'm sure they'll have some sort of fix for the MMS issue. If they truly want to take over the mobile phone market this is a must!

They don't, but they'll probably add it anyway.

I woudnt call it a fix. Just add the feature to the iPhone II and make a lot of people happy. Whoever was the moron that decided to omit this in the first place should be fired and if it was att that demanded they leave it out, then shame on them. We all know Apple is smart enough to have this feature so there no need for "fix" just include it this time.

Posted by: RogerPodacter

i thought that MMS was intentionally left out because they dont want people sending mp3s to each other. but there is a 300kb limit on mms, so basically the only thing people would be sending are songs clipped down to ringtone length. big whoop. i doubt the RIAA would get upset about that.

My only comment - RIM wouldn't release a BB without their beloved "trackball" haha

Posted by: nfl46

How can anyone compare the 3G iPhone to any other phone when we CLEARLY don't know anything about it? Lol. All we know is rumors...
